Does Qbooks e-files NJ W-3/W-2 along with SSA and Federal? If not, how do I go about efiling it?
Any guidence is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reaching to the Community for assistance.
The NJ-W-3 form will need to be printed and mailed. That means that you’ll need to submit the form manually. I recommend checking out New Jersey Payroll Tax Compliance for additional information on the available services.
To print, you can follow these steps here:
For your state W-2s, I have a pdf here that contains complete instructions about filing. You can also visit this site for electronic filing.
To find out how to obtain the information needed to fill out the NJ W-2, check out the W2 form boxes explained. I’m sure you’ll find it helpful.
Please reach out if there's anything else I can do to help. I'm determined to be your number one resource for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. Have a good one.
Thank you. Though can you please call me at [removed phone number] for a quick clarification.

Thanks for coming back to us, @cpa4tax.
The steps, given by my colleague @MadelynC are to print and mailed NJ-W-3. This is to submit the form manually.
Also, my colleague shared a PDF that can help you file W-2.
If you still have clarification about the process, you can request a callback from the Help menu in your QBDT account.
Here's how:
Also, I’m adding a guide that lists our support hours and calls me back options to fit our customers' schedules: Support hours and types.

Hi,
Quickbooks support is the worst! None of the agent who supposed to help ProAdvisor have knowledge of Qbooks inabliltiy to e-file NJ W-3/W-2, which I wonder why not? and NJ mandate that they will not accept paper file! Even when you print W-3 it written in bold type Do Not file this form it's just for informational. Agent did not know, person who responded to my query did not know - all of them gave round about response wasted their and my time!
I had the same experiences. I have called 8 times and no one could help to give me the correct answers. So frustrated about this.
I had the same experience. Very frustrated.
Hi,
It is frustrating!
For the Full Payroll Service client Qbooks does e-file NJ W3-W2, I wonder why they don't avail same for the Enhance Payroll?
I wish I could make it better, @cpa4tax.
Let me help share information about the availability of your payroll forms for electronic filing.
To start with, your payroll subscription is one of the key factors that affect the filing of your payroll forms, electronically or not. Full-Service payroll provides less work for business owners as we prepare payroll activities on your behalf. While the Enhanced payroll provides assistance that'll guide you with your payroll activities.
With this, let's consider following the steps shared by my colleague above in manually printing and filing your payroll forms. Or you may contact your state agency or check with their website for the instruction of filing your payroll forms electronically.
Additionally, I've got you this helpful article for guidance in preparation for the 2020 tax season: QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Year-end Checklist.
If you have any other questions, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a helping hand.
Way to completely dodge the question @JonpriL ! Did you even bother reading the entire thread ?
You (Intuit) should be contacting New Jersey to get on their approved vendor list for E-filing the State W-2/W-3.
I think it might be time the whole accounting community leave Intuit.
Thank you for your response - though it does not solve the issue all NJ tax preparer community is facing - NJ does NOT accept paper file of NJ W-3/W-2's. Give us solutions by letting us e-file through Qbooks! As you have capacity to file for Full Service payroll and under Enhance Payroll also lot of other State Qbooks able to e-file why not NJ State?
As everyone has been saying over and over again, NJ does not accept print version of W-3 with W-2. If Intuit can't handle this mandate, only option we have is to go to NJ Revenue Dept Website and enter each W-2 manually. I have a couple of clients with 100 past and current employees (employees come and go). It will take a day to enter 100 times directly into NJ's Website. It is insane.
Data is all in Quickbook Payroll, why can't Quickbook e-file this? Please escalate the issue to higher authority.
Thank You!
When is Intuit updating the NJ electronic filing? I can't afford to enter theses NJ W-2 manually. Do you have Any idea when this problem is going to be fixed?
I recognized the importance of filing your taxes on time, @ahncpa54.
As of the moment, there isn’t an update yet as to when QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will support New Jersey NJ electronic filing. Rest assured our Product team is working diligently to have this available and stay in compliance with your state tax agency.
To stay current on the latest news and updates in QBDT, visit our Product Updates page for reference.
While this option isn’t available in QuickBooks, we run your Payroll Summary report to get the data. Here’s how:
You can also customize it if you want to view the information you need.
Once done, go to the State of New Jersey's instructions page and file your state W-2s from there.
I’d also suggest updating your tax table to the latest release to ensure your payroll is up to date. Additionally, let me share with you these articles for additional guidance in preparing and filing your 2020 tax:
Let me know if you have other concerns or follow-up questions. I’ll be around ready to help you. Take care and keep safe.
I too am frustrated and annoyed that I have to manually enter all my employee's info on the NJ site for NJW3/W2s. If one is not happy with their software, by all means complain. But it should also be noted that for every state in the Union that has a state income tax, QB can either directly eFile this info OR create a file to be uploaded to the state's website. So NJ stands alone. NJ announced this electronic mandate a year ago. They put no resources into this. The NJ Treasury/taxation website says just contact Axway for login credentials to be able to upload a file. So I did. But nope--they have a "limited amount of accounts to give out" so you have to have 100+ employees in order to use site. So it is mandated for everyone, but the little guy has to spend hours doing the task while the big guys have to spend 3 minutes. Thanks for caring NJ. Hard to believe that NJ didn't make it extremely difficult or impossible for QB to be able to do here what it did in every other state. NJ was useless when I contacted them.

There is no place on their W-2 form to put WF. I have asked NJ 3 times and no answer so I guess we just add it to UI. They told me if I have a total of 100 W-2's to file (counting all my clients) I could use Axway or whatever company they are using but I don't have 100 W-2's combined.
Dear QuickBooks Team Employees,
Are you guys even reading the blogs and what CPA/Tax Preparer are saying here or just keep responding with "how to print NJ W3/W2 to paper file it"! You should not response without reading the blogs or not having current knoweldge/requirement of the matters discussed here!
NJ State does not accept paper file, if Qbooks does not offer NJ W-3/W2 e-file, than only choice most of us have is to go NJ website and enter ALL the data!
This is a nonsense answer from Quickbooks.
New Jersey mandated over a year ago that all NJ-W-3 filings be done electronically starting January 1, 2021. The state websites and publications specifically state paper/printed/mailed forms will not be accepted.
Further, the state published e-filing parameters and requirements for companies like Quickbooks over twelve months ago.
Desktop customers who attempt to use the solution provided by Quickbooks of printing and mailing will have their filings rejected by the state and may face penalties. Tax filers in New Jersey should be wary of Quickbooks bad advice here - if you print and mail you will have difficulties with the state.
This is significant issue for New Jersey filers and must be corrected by Quickbooks immediately. Please post the status of having this fix completed and a data by which it will be completed.
This is terrible, terrible advice.
Quickbooks is creating an enormous liability by having employees and moderators suggest NJ filers can print and mail - they cannot. Printing and mail will result in liabilities and penalties for filers.
This nonsense about Full Service vs Enhances is also silly. Quickbooks already E-files all NJ forms via Enhanced *as required by law*. This one form is the exception and it is the exception because Quickbooks hasn't made any effort to fix it. Quickbooks has a simple question to answer: Does Enhanced payroll meet the requirements of the law or not? If not, then why are customers paying for it?
Let's be clear Quickbooks - you have a major flaw in your payroll, this flaw makes your service incompatible with the law, and the advice to print/mail will end up creating enormous problems for your customers.
"Rest assured our product team is working on it."
Really? Really?
Why should Quickbooks, which has demonstrated repeatedly it's disregard for desktop customers, earn any measure of trust someone in development is fixing this problems?
This requirement was announced over a year ago along with the technical requirements to implement the fix. Additionally, Quickbooks already e-files all other NJ forms. The only reason it hasn't been fixed is because Quickbooks has zero intention of fixing it.
Prove me wrong.
QB is a disgrace in terms for support for the customers using QB payroll.
Why can't QB provide the excel file to upload to the NJ site all the NJ W2 and W3?
Does QB expect us to manually enter ALL the employees data onto the NJ site?
Who is gong to pay us for doing this manual labor? QB?
This is pathetic that QB did not come up with a solution before year-end!!
What are your QB engineers doing about this problem?
Is anyone going to provide any answers?
QB support is useless. They don't know anything as to how their own software works.
I would not recommend QB to anyone from now on.
If this is how QB wants to treat its customers, let get rid of this QB service.
I have over 100 w-2's I need to file electronically. Are you telling me to manually enter every single one on the state's website? I pay over $2,000 a year for my QuickBooks subscription. Are you going to reimburse me for my time to do this job that is supposed to be part of the service?
BTW - I notified QuickBooks in the Spring of 2020 that NJ will require electronic filing for tax year 2020 or all W2, W3 and 1099's. You have no excuse!
Is there any word on QB Desktop preparing the electronic copy of the NJW3 and NJW2 as I have emailed NJ and it's Mandatory and under no circumstance they are accepting paper copies. Attached is a copy of the email from NJ. We have 252 NJ W2's that need to be uploaded and we can't print or create a file.
Thank You
Dan
