It's now January 12th and the new Alabama Overtime Exemption is still not working. I have run the Payroll Update again this morning for probably the 15th time - nothing. I have spoken with a dozen folks, via chat and phone over the last 2 weeks. How is this okay QuickBooks????? How is it okay that you train your "Customer Service" representatives to give the users canned answers that not only do not help, but in pretty much every case cost us valuable wasted time, usually HOURS, trailing down rabbit holes because the person actually has no idea what they are trying to fix. I've had TWO people (out of a dozen) at QuickBooks that even knew what I was talking about!
Quickbooks, when are you going to resolve this issue??? Or when are you even going to communicate to the Alabama users exactly what is going on with this issue??? When are we going to be able to run payroll properly???
How are you okay with leaving paying customers hanging with ZERO information, ZERO recourse to get it corrected and ZERO help to figure out this problem. It's not like we can stop paying our employees until this is fixed!! How would you like to stop getting paid until this fixed??? This is beyond frustrating and a most unacceptable way to do business!
Hello there, @PR Mgr.
I can see how the inability to run payroll prevents you from paying your employees. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have when working with QuickBooks. With this, I'll ensure you get the help you need from the appropriate support to fix this immediately.
I truly understand that you have reached our technical team already. However, I recommend speaking to our payroll support again since the Alabama Overtime Exemption is still not working on your end, even after the update. They have all the necessary resources to thoroughly examine this issue and provide the most relevant resolution.
Proceed to these steps to get in touch with our technical team:
You can check their support hours to connect with them accordingly.
On the other hand, once you've already set up and tracked the Alabama overtime exemption, run the Payroll Item Detail report to review the total of the AL-OT exemption.
Feel free to add a comment in this thread for questions or clarifications when running payroll with the new overtime exemption or other related concerns in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. I can always lend a hand.
January 15th - another 2 hours on the phone Friday with a QuickBooks Support person that took over my computer and ran updates, back-ups, re-builds, and on and on and on - still not working.
