Can I manually pay federal income taxes?

Hi there, @plsapp. Let me share some insights about paying income taxes manually in QuickBooks Online QBO).

 

Make sure to turn off the automatic forms and filing in your QuickBooks account and that the taxes and forms preference is set to I’ll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail. To check, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings , then select Payroll Settings.
  2. From the Taxes and forms section, select Edit .
  3. Uncheck the Automate taxes and forms box.
  4. Then tick I’ll pay and file the right agencies through their website or by mail.

  5. Select Save, then Done

 

After that, you can manually pay your federal income taxes directly to the right agency. Then, manually record tax payments in QuickBooks Online Payroll. Refer to this article for more details: Record tax payments made outside of QuickBooks Online Payroll.
