Can you help me submitting payroll tax deposit electronically? There is a message I have to provide obscure info from 8 years ago to continue.

Hello, @tomrussellokc.

 

When paying your taxes electronically using the E-Pay feature in your Online Payroll, you'd want to make sure that you're able to set up E-File & Pay properly. Also, you'd want to ensure that your payroll tax information and payments are recorded accurately in QuickBooks. 

 

You can run the Payroll Tax and Wage summary report to see the total and taxable wages that are subject to federal and province/region/state withholding.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Payroll section.
  3. Select the Payroll Tax and Wage Summary report.
  4. Review the report details.

Also, you can check your Payroll settings. This way, we'd make sure that all the necessary payroll information, especially for 2020, is recorded in the Tax Set up and E-file and Epay page.

  1. Go to the Gear Icon.
  2. Choose the Payroll Settings.
  3. Select the Tax Setup tab.
  4. Review each tax information.
  5. From the E-file and E-pay tab, make sure that your company's principal officer's details are correct.
  6. Lastly, signed the authorization form to us to begin reporting payroll taxes on behalf of your company.

Once everything reviewed and all set, you can now start paying your taxes electronically through QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu.
  2. Select the Payroll Tax tab.
  3. Click the Create payment button on the tax you want to pay.
  4. Choose E-pay.
  5. Always pick Earliest as it's the recommended date to pay taxes, then select Approve.
    • The earliest means the next available payment date. The next available payment date is two business days from the date you approve of this tax payment.
    • The other allows you to specify a date in the future to make the payment.
    • The latest means we'll process the payment to deposit on the actual due date for the tax payment.
  6. An e-payment confirmation window appears, select Done.

See attached screenshot. I'm trying to set up for payroll tax efile and epay and I'm getting the same error message for several days now.
