Changes in QB Time

I have been using Tsheets for a long time.  I'm a consultant and use multiple service items to charge for different things.  I also pay myself a salary rather than hourly.

1.  Why is Tsheets no longer showing service items and giving me the opportunity to make them billable or not?

2.  I already ran paychecks for myself for time in June (since I'm on salary).  However, I had not yet "approved that time" to import all of those time charges into my customer sales.  With whatever changes have been made I can't seem to figure out how to approve that June time now to bring in all that data into sales.  How can I import that time in?

Thanks for reaching out for support here in the Community. I'd be glad to provide some info to answer your QuickBooks Time questions.

 

Service items can be made billable in the custom fields area of your QB Time account, located in Feature Add Ons>>Custom Fields. When I look at your account on my end, this looks set up perfectly. I can also see service items and the billable field on all of your timesheets within Time Entries. Would you mind sending over screenshot of what you're seeing?

 

For your second question, the following steps will walk you through the time approval process:

  1. Go to Approvals.
  2. Choose the report dates, team members, and select Run Report.
  3. Select either Check all unapproved, or select individual team members.
  4. Click Approve Selected Users.
  5. Alternatively, select Approve next to the team member's name individually.

If you still aren't able to approve time, a screenshot of what it looks like on your side would be super helpful!

My employees and I do not have the ability to select a service item in the mobile app.  Why is this?

There might be an issue within the app that's why the service item isn't showing up. To check, let's try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This way, we can refresh its data and fix it. 

 

For Andriod, here's how to delete the app:

 

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  3. Tap Manage apps & devices and select Manage.
  4. Look for the app you want to delete and tap it, then select Uninstall.

 

For iOS devices, follow these steps:
 

  1. Touch and hold the app.
  2. Tap Remove App.
  3. Select Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.

I have uninstalled the Quickbooks Time app and reinstalled it with no different results.  Service items are not displayed on the app.  I have checked with my employees and their apps are not showing the service items either.  I have QB settings selected to show service field.  Can you help resolve this issue?

I'd suggest accessing your QuickBooks Time account using a browser. This way, we can identify if it has something to do with your mobile app.

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then choose QuickBooks Time Help.
  3. Hit Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then click Let's talk.
  5. Pick a way to connect with support (Chat, Callback, Etc.).

Very disappointed in the support lately.  It takes an unmatched amount of clicks to get to support, only to find out that support isn't available right now.  For what this subscription costs, support should be much easier to access.

I did finally get in touch with Lakisha (sorry if I spelled that wrong) at Quickbooks Time and she was able to work through this issue with me.  We found that in Quickbooks Online, both the service item and billable time must be set to Yes.  Then import the data to Quickbooks Time again and the service item will show up on both the web page and app once you have selected the customer.  Hope this helps others that may have this issue.
