I have searched the new Colorado system for a list of TPA and no combo of QuickBooks or Intuit come up. Have any other Colorado been successful getting this info?
Hi there,
Allow me to share some information regarding the new admin number for unemployment.
Usually, your state should send an email regarding any update if they've made any changes. You'll want to check your junk email or spam to see them. If you haven't received them, I suggest reaching out to your state to secure them.
If you've managed to secure a new number, feel free to use this article to update your QBO: Add or change your payroll state account number.
I've also attached an article you can use to enter any tax payments you paid outside the payroll system: Recording prior tax payments.
Leave a comment below if you have other concerns related to changing state information in QuickBooks. The Community and I will be around to help you.
I don't think you understand what she is asking for or what I will be asking for.
Colorado unemployment has gone to a new portal and we need to assign Intuit as our TPA. We need a TPA ID in order to do that. Can you provide that ID #?
According to Intuit, they are acquiring a TPA ID from Colorado. They never needed one before CO UI changed portals. They have updated everyone's new CO UI in the payroll system, they just don't have a TPA ID yet. Once they do, they will take care of updating the CO UI system.
Intuit cannot do anything until the employer gives them access to their individual accounts. The employer cannot do that without the TPA. Does Intuit plan on emailing all Colorado employers when they have their number? Also, the state of Colorado issued TPA's their ID numbers on Oct 2, 2023. Intuit cannot change the employer CO UI account number without access to all the individual accounts. I have checked our CO UI account number in Intuit and it is not incorrect. Intuit has also prepped the 3rd quarter filing with the wrong account number. Can anyone working for Intuit Quickbooks give me a date for when the TPA ID will be secured?
Following!!
We understand the urgency in getting third-party admin (TPA) numbers to ensure access to your CO UI system account, erinbdean.
For now, we aren't able to provide the exact timeframe of when these TPA's be entirely secured to allow changes to all the individual accounts.
For us to provide you with timely updates about when these TPA IDs will be secured, we recommend contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Team. They have the necessary tools to further review your account and verify the exact availability date of these numbers to allow access to your CO UI account.
Here's how to reach them:
Furthermore, you may also pay and file payroll taxes and forms to ensure state and federal taxes are submitted on time. This way, your payroll liabilities are accurately managed.
We'll always be around in this thread for any additional queries or updates when managing TPA IDs. Please let us know in the comments below. Take care.
I did talk with Intuit payroll on Fri 10-6-2023. I was on the phone for 1 hour and 20 minutes, most of it on hold, while they "looked into the matter." They have no idea when the TPA number will be secured.
I just received this email from Intuit, see last paragraph:
Dear Valued Customer, | ||||||||
On October 3, Colorado launched their new unemployment system, MYUI Employer +, with self-service features for employers and access to more account information. Employers can go to the agency site and register after receiving an activation link from the agency.
New Account Number Format: The new system will change account number formats. Colorado will continue to accept your client's old account number on payments and filings, so there is no need to change their account number in QuickBooks. The product will support the new account number format if the agency changes this requirement.

If you submit tax payments and filings in QuickBooks for your clients (Auto Tax Off)
| ||||||||
You do not need to assign QuickBooks as your client(s) Third Party Agent; we will work directly with Colorado to complete this action. For more information on the new Colorado MYUI Employer +, visit the agency's user guide |
What a terrible response by QuickBooks.
Agreed. I have pretty much gotten the same response from ADP. Seems like the larger the entity the more difficult it is to get something like this taken care of. Even though, I am certain Intuit was getting flooded with the email notices from Colorado about the change just as we all were. Very frustrating. Do better Intuit.
