We're glad to have you here in the Community forum, timwes. I know the importance of syncing your employee's time when running payroll in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), and I'm here to get the help you need.
To ensure the sync is completed, you can try unchecking and then rechecking the relevant settings. Here’s how to do it:
- On your QBDT account, open the Employee Center.
- Locate and double-click on the employees name.
- Go to the payroll info tab.
- Uncheck the box Use time data to create paychecks.
- Save and close the employee’s profile.
- Re-open the profile and re-check Use time data to create paychecks box.
- Save and close the Employee Center.
After completing these steps, run payroll again to see if the hours are now visible.
However, if you've exported your hours from QuickBooks Time to QuickBooks Desktop and they're not displaying correctly, we can check the sync log. It's likely that the payroll details need some refreshing. Here’s what you can do:
- Log in to QuickBooks Time as the admin.
- Choose the QuickBooks dropdown, then select Sync log.
- Review the sync log for errors.
If the problem continues, I recommend checking out this article and proceeding to Step 2: Ensure employee hours are exported to the weekly timesheet section and follow the suggested steps: Fix QuickBooks Time payroll hours display in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you need to generate payroll reports in the future for insights about your business and employees, take a look at this article for guidance. Simply select QuickBooks Desktop Payroll: Run payroll reports.
