Hello there, @ljbukowski.
Right now, the ability to generate donation letters is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, you can create a transaction statement or pulling up the Sales by Donor Detail report to get the details you need per donor.
Here's how to create a statement:
To create the Sales by Donor Detail report, refer to the steps below:
If this doesn't work for you, I'd suggest visiting our App Center. There are donation apps that can integrate with QBO and can sync with your financial data. This way, it'll be easier to gather everything you need to issue the donor letters.
You can stay in the know about feature releases and product updates by visiting the QuickBooks Blog. It also contains some tips on how to efficiently run the business.

Though you can create reports for managements purposes, QuickBooks won't create proper donor statements with the required text and read to mail or email. Instead, use the BRC Donor Statements - QB Online , which will read your QB data (first exported from QB using reports) and create the statements without any additional data entry.
I am trying to run statements as noted above to use for donor letters. However, my system is telling me that only 6 of my 75 donors have statements. I don't understand why??
Can you help?

It is so disappointing, but completely expected, that QuickBooks has not solved this problem. My expectation of QuickBooks actually creating a working solution is between no intelligent programmers work at Intuit to Intuit wants us to forget about the issue. QuickBooks is the most useless software on the internet.
Hello,
Is this feature available now? We are a Non-Profit Organization trying to adopt quickbooks online plus. So we send out year end donation summary statements to all Donors and I am not able to find a way to do that. Please advise.
Thanks!
Thank you for checking in about the year-end donation letters in QuickBooks, @NestAdmin.Let me share an update about this feature.
As of now, the ability to produce donation letters is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. With this, I'd suggest utilizing our third-party app by going to apps.intuit.com or BRC Donor Statements - QB Online, as mentioned above.

To be honest your sales team did a great job selling the features of quickbooks online for non-profits, however I feel it was disingenuous to not share the limitation as well. As someone who is running a non-profit and sold my board on spending money each month on quickbooks, you have now created a situation where I have to spend many hours or pay even more money for what is a critical part of keeping our 501c3 status.
It should be a priority to have non-profit letters, or you should not be selling yourself as a company that meets non-profit needs.
We were in the same boat as you -- so we created a web app to solve the problem both for ourselves and for those like us. Our app makes it extremely simple to bulk generate beautiful IRS-compliant statements for all your donors as once, or create a statement for an individual donor. We also have powerful filters to tailor make statements according to your own criteria. You can set our app to automatically email statements to each donor, or print a PDF to mail them out as you prefer. There are many other features as well... please check it out, and feel free to reach out and let us know if there is anything you would like is to add!

I replied to another user in more detail below, but wanted to also let you know that we recently released a web app to solve this issue once and for all. Please visit donorstatements.com/features to see how you can easily send all your annual donor statements with a few easy clicks -- automatically by email, or by generating PDFs preformatted to fit standard #9 double window envelopes.
I paid for and downloaded the BRC software only to find out that it is not compatible with my Mac. Is there a Mac version out there somewhere?
