How can i edit the tax payment amount that was exported from desktop to qbo?

Hi, @userfinance14.

Yes, you can edit the tax payment amount that was exported from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO). And, you have multiple options for this. I'm here to share with you how.

If you're referring to the sales tax payment, you can create an adjustment for this. Here's how:

  1. Click on Taxes from the Navigation bar, and then go to the Sales tax tab.
  2. Find the tax period you need to adjust, and then select View return.
  3. Hit Add an adjustment.
  4. Select the Reason for the adjustment.
  5. Pick the Account for adjusting sales tax.
    • Choose an expense account if you need to increase the tax due.
    • Choose an income account if you need to decrease the tax due.
  6. Enter the adjustment amount, and then select Add.

For payroll tax payments, you can change the amount by following these steps:

  1. Click on Payroll tax from the Taxes tab.
  2. Under the Tax resources section, click the Tax payment history link.
  3. Locate and click the tax payment to open it.
  4. Hit the Edit button.
  5. Enter the correct amount.
  6. Tap OK to save the changes.

Moreover, you can also enter a transaction from the +New icon such as Check or Expense to offset the amount. For further assistance, you can ask help from a professional accountant. They are the ones who can assist you with picking the correct accounts and keep your record accurate and balance.
