How can I fix the QB mileage section to accurately recognize my address? It puts me at a similarly named address a half-mile from my home. I’ve tried correcting it, but it doesn’t take. Is there any way to fix this?

I can help you update the mileage trip, @avlhomeandpet.

You'll need to delete this mileage trip that has an incorrect address. Then, manually add this one to set the right address. The feature to edit an automatically added trip is unavailable.

To delete the mileage trip:

  1. Go to the Miles or Mileage menu.
  2. Find and open the trip.
  3. Select the Trash can icon (on a browser or for Android) or Delete Trip (iPhone).

To manually add the trip on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad):

  1. Select the Mileage menu and tap the Plus icon (+) and then Create trip.
  2. Enter the trip details.
  3. Click on Save.

On an Android device (phone or tablet):

  1. Go to the Menu ☰ icon and tap the Mileage menu.
  2. Select the Plus icon (+) and then Add business trip.
  3. Enter the trip details.
  4. Click on Save.

No, you do not understand the problem. I know how to manually enter trips. Your system WILL NOT accept my true home address, whether I manually add it or not. It doesn’t accept my GPS coordinates nor my input address. I live at 19 Eller Cove Estates—USPS recognizes it as 19 Eller Cove EST. In Weaverville, NC 28787. Your system changes it to 9 Eller Cove Road, Weaverville NC 28787.

Good day, avlhomeandpet.

We can enter 19 Eller Cove EST in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I tried it on my end and it works. The issue you encountered could be because of a browser error. We can perform some troubleshooting steps to fix this.

Let's start by using an incognito window and add the mileage from there.

  1. Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift + N
  2. Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  3. Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  4. Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

We can also clear the cache to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online. Lastly, make sure that the browser is up-to-date.

If you're using the mobile app in recording the trips, you'll want to update it via Play Store or App Store. If the same thing happens, you'll want to uninstall and reinstall it.
