How can my employee track their mileage on their phone?

You can let them install the QuickBooks Online mobile app, nurdevelopment.

We have android and iOS version of this app. Then, make sure to enable it to run in the background while your phone is using data. You can check the phone's settings to allow the following:

• Allow app while data saver is on
• Allow unrestricted data usage
• Allow background data usage

Then, let's turn on the auto-tracking feature. Simply click Mileage, then select Auto-tracking. They can also manually track their mileage. Just click Add Trip on the Mileage section.

In addition, make sure that your employee has access to your QuickBooks Online account. They can only track mileage within QuickBooks Online if they are at least Company admin or Standard user with full access.

Also, you can check anytime your QuickBooks Online account via browser to review the mileage log. Simply select the Mileage tab. Then, go to either All, Unreviewed, Business, or Personal sub-tab.

Is there a way for my employees to track mileage without them having FULL access? I don't want them to see all my accounting business.

Happy to provide some insight on the mileage tracking feature in QuickBooks Online. At the moment, only users with Full Access can utilize Mileage Tracking on mobile. Did anything ever come from this as I would also like employees to track mileage?.  Seems that the functionality is available so why not allow access without having to give employees access to everything.

How about now? It's been yet another year. I am honestly a bit suprised that allowing access to mileage and NOT everything else wasn't an obvious feature right from the start. Please get this update through.

As of right now, this still isn't available for QuickBooks Online. However, you can send feedback so that our Product Developers see your request to add this in the near future because it would be beneficial for your business.

Crappy QuickBooks, Why even have employees access if that cant do anything... There is a reason not to give your employees Full access to everything.... IT BECAUSE WE DONT WANT TO SHARE OUR ACCOUNTING INFO WITH HOURLY EMPLOYEES.......

Make the fix already people have been asking for it for years...

Let employees have access to anything we want them too. They should not need full access so they can go and add millage and then screw with there accounting. So dumb. 

Year 3 of looking for this update to happen... I don't even work in that same office and it would be useful in my current one too. It should go to show that this WOULD BE NICE if it ever happens.
