How do I change a payroll tax id number in quickbooks online?

I've got the two options for this, @OCC. 

If you’ll use a different EIN for filing now, you can consider adding another company. I want to ensure your books are distinct for tax purposes. 

If you're just changing the EIN that was incorrectly entered previously, let's go to the settings to complete this task. I'll guide you how. 

1. Select the Gear (⚙️) icon at the upper right and choose Account and Settings.
2. Click Company from the left panel.
3. Go to the Company name section.
4. In the EIN field, enter the new number. 
5. Click Save.
6. Choose Done.

The screenshot below shows you the last five steps. 

Then, update the tax info in your payroll service. You'll have to turn off the e-services feature before performing the steps below. 

1. Go to the Gear (⚙️​​​​​​​) icon at the top and select Payroll Settings.
2. Under Taxes, select Federal Taxes.
3. Enter the correct EIN.
4. Click OK.

Once done, you'll have to re-enroll the e-services feature and send us a new authorization form.

Aside from EIN, you can update other details in Account and Settings. These are contact info, business type, and address from the Company tab.
