How do I support a Desktop client remotely?

Since you want to support a client remotely, consider using our Authorized Commercial Hosting Program. This allows you to have your licensed copy or copies of QuickBooks installed on servers in an authorized remote hosting facility. Then, access that software over the Internet on a virtual desktop via a secure connection and a web browser.

Setting this up requires accessing your account which we're unable to do it here in the Community. That said, I highly suggest contacting our Phone Support team. They have the tools that can pull up your account in a secure environment and assist you further.

Here's how to reach them:

1. Open QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), then go to the Help menu at the top to get to the QuickBooks Desktop Help.
2. Select Contact Us at the bottom to connect with our live support.

1. Utilize the remote desktop solution, if they want to monitor closely what you are doing on their file.

2. Ask them to deploy a private cloud. You may access their local file anytime you want by internet connection.
