Thanks Mich_S. I was able to edit the future pay schedule to my desired dates. However, the past pay period that I have already run still contains the wrong dates. Is there any way to change dates on a previously run payroll?
Thanks,
Adam
Thanks for getting back and providing an update, @octopuswindowcle.
Right now, able to change/edit a pay period of a processed paycheck is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, you can delete and recreate them instead. To do this, let's pull up the Paycheck List report to serve as your guide.
Here's how:
Once done, to recreate them with the correct pay periods, follow the below steps:
To learn more about what you can and can't be edited on a paycheck in QBO, see this article: Change an employee paycheck.
Please know that I'm here anytime you have other concerns. Feel free to reach back out. Have a great day.
It was processed via direct deposit payroll.
Hello there, @Test2Go.
Direct deposit paychecks can be canceled up until they start to process. We process paychecks two banking days in advance, at 5 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time). For example, if you've scheduled an employee's paycheck on Friday, you can cancel it until 5 pm PST Wednesday.
If it hasn't been processed yet, you can delete the paychecks:
If you can't delete it, you can contact payroll support for assistance. Here's how:
I'm still here if you have other payroll concerns though, just leave a comment below.

I want to make sure you're able to update your pay schedule, @Bonehat.
May I know what payroll service you're using? If you have QuickBooks Online Payroll (Full Service, Core, Premium, and Elite), you'll have to reach out to our Customer Care Support Team so they can help you edit the pay period.
Additionally, we can only update future pay schedules. If you're trying to change the date on a previously run payroll, you can delete and recreate it instead. You can follow the steps provided by MirriamM. If you're unable to delete it, please contact us to connect to a payroll expert.
