How to get reports for tax form 940 and Form 940 for the period ending February 15, 2020

Hello rashmi-v!

I'll be happy to walk you through getting reports for your FUTA tax, and I'll share information about the form as well.

  1. Go to Taxes and choose Payroll Tax.
  2. In the Taxes section, click on View your Tax Liability report.
  3. In the Date Range drop list, select Custom and enter the dates.
  4. Click on Run Report.
  5. Check the Federal Unemployment section to see the outstanding amount.

To see the FUTA of each employee, you can pull up the Payroll Summary by Employee report and change the date range.

  1. Go to Reports and search for Payroll Summary by Employee.
  2. Click on the suggested report.
  3. Change the date range and click Run Report.

Please note that the form 940 for the year 2020 will be available by January 1 next year. Also, you can only pull it up if you have no outstanding SUI and FUTA taxes. If you do, QuickBooks will tell you to pay them first before you can pull up the form using the steps below:

  1. Go to Taxes and choose Payroll Tax.
  2. In the Forms section, click the Annual Forms text in blue.
  3. Click the 940 form code in blue text.

If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread.
