We’ll have to review your accounts to make sure you can complete your payroll smoothly. I’ll guide you on how to accomplish this task.
- Tap the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Payroll settings under Your Company.
- This action will take you to the Preferences page.
- From there, go to the Preferences section and click the Accounting link to open the Accounting Preferences screen.
- Review the accounts in the following and make sure they’re the right one: Wage Expense Accounts, Company Contribution Expense Accounts, Tax Expense Accounts, Tax Liability Accounts, and Other Liability & Asset Accounts.
- Click OK to close the screen.
Once done, go back to the Employees page to run payroll. If you continue to get the same error, let’s run some basic troubleshooting steps.
First, access your company via incognito mode or private browsing and process payroll from there. This browsing session doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm if the error is browser-related.
Here's how:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
- Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox).
- Press Ctrl + Shift + E (Microsoft Edge).
- Press Command + Shift + N (Safari).
If it works, I suggest you go back to your main browser and clear the cache. Performing this process will enhance your overall browsing experience. If the issue persists, access QBO using a supported browser.
