I don’t collect or maintain credit card data. Quickbooks processes all of my electronic payments. Why do I have to pay for pci compliance?

Let me provide information about QuickBooks Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) complianceJayson.

All service providers or businesses that process, store, or transmit payment card data are required to comply with the data standard. Regardless of the amount or size of annual payment card transactions. While Intuit products are PCI compliant, you also need to validate that your business handles payment card data safely through PCI compliance certification. You can check out these articles to learn more about PCI DSS Compliance Services:

If you have further concerns about the fees or payments related to PCI compliance, we recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Payments Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and provide you with details about this one. Here's how:

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
  2. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
  3. Select Contact Support Team.
  4. Type again Talk to a human and click Contact Support Team.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us.

Moreover, here's an article that'll give you some tips on how to keep your account and financial information secure: Privacy and security in QuickBooks.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about PCI compliance or any online payment concerns, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be sure to get back to you. Take care always.

We don't handle, process or store sensitive payment card data. The only way we accept a credit card is if a customer clicks on the payment link included in their emailed invoice.

I understand all I need to do is complete a SAQ A downloaded from the pcisecuritystandards.org website and submit it to QuickBooks Payments.

How do I submit the form to QuickBooks Payments?

Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, BCHOA.

You won't need to submit a form to Intuit after completing your SecurityMetrics information.

Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Go to SecurityMetrics.
  2. Click Get Started, Create Account, then fill out all the fields.
  3. Select Create Account, then follow the on-screen steps to what you need to do for PCI.

If you have any questions during the process, you'll want to get in touch with SecurityMetrics support.

I've also included a detailed resource about using QuickBooks Payments which may come in handy moving forward: Learn about QuickBooks PCI DSS Compliance Services

I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a great Thursday!

I don’t collect or maintain credit card data. Quickbooks processes all of my electronic payments. Why do I have to pay for pci compliance?

I have found out that most credit card processors include the PCI compliance in their fees. I have found a processor (Helcim) that would do just that. And their fees to our customers are lower than QB.

So we'll just be moving on.

I also want to point out that I specifically asked about fees to us when opening the merchant account, I was told there were none.

It seems you wait until the first credit card is processed and then jump in with this annual fee.

Definitely bait and switch.
