Hey there, @tracy26. I'm here to help you with your 2020 W-4 Tax Form.

I want to ensure that you have the latest update to your QuickBooks account. If you don't have the latest update, then you can perform a clean install process. This will fix display issues that will replace the system on your computer. No worries, it won't affect your accounting data. Here's how:

  1. Download a new file of your QuickBooks so you'll get the latest update for this version, then save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
  2. Backup your company file to prevent it from accidental loss.
  3. Uninstall QuickBooks. I've provided the steps below:
    1. Open the Windows Start Menu.
    2. Search for "Control Panel" and open it.
    3. Choose Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
    4. Select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you're currently using.
    5. Click Uninstall/Change and follow the onscreen instructions.
    6. If you don't see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an Admin.
  4. Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  5. Run the Clean Install Tool.
  6. Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.

After you've completed the troubleshooting steps listed above, you can open the W-4 Form and see the option to enter Step 1: (c) Head of household. Here's an article that gives more information on the new W-4 Tax Form and detailed steps on how to enter the information in QuickBooks: Federal W-4.
