Hey there, @tracy26. I'm here to help you with your 2020 W-4 Tax Form.
I want to ensure that you have the latest update to your QuickBooks account. If you don't have the latest update, then you can perform a clean install process. This will fix display issues that will replace the system on your computer. No worries, it won't affect your accounting data. Here's how:
- Download a new file of your QuickBooks so you'll get the latest update for this version, then save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
- Backup your company file to prevent it from accidental loss.
- Uninstall QuickBooks. I've provided the steps below:
- Open the Windows Start Menu.
- Search for "Control Panel" and open it.
- Choose Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
- Select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you're currently using.
- Click Uninstall/Change and follow the onscreen instructions.
- If you don't see this option, sign out and sign back into Windows as an Admin.
- Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
- Run the Clean Install Tool.
- Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.
After you've completed the troubleshooting steps listed above, you can open the W-4 Form and see the option to enter Step 1: (c) Head of household. Here's an article that gives more information on the new W-4 Tax Form and detailed steps on how to enter the information in QuickBooks: Federal W-4.
