Hi @gpbarnett5,
Since you have already tried creating the payment and still it did not remove the payroll notices, I suggest contacting our payroll support so we can help you further.
Don't hesitate to post again if you need another help. Thanks!
Hi there, gpbarnett5.
We received a couple of similar cases about the 940 tax that's still showing as overdue. Our Payroll Team is already checking what's causing the Federal Unemployment to show as unpaid even if the forms and payments were already submitted.
In the meantime, please click Create Payment to remove the amount due. QuickBooks Online will automatically recalculate and update the system to reflect that nothing is due.
Let me know if you need anything else. The Community is always here to help you.
Create Payment does not eliminate the erroneous message. I will be calling support.

I have 940 for 2019 and 2020 still showings as unpaid on reminding me to pay. I paid it and it is in my history, yet I cannot get rid of this still showing as unpaid on the TAX page. Please fix this. I tried the mark as paid and every other option there is and still it has not gone away.
I appreciate you for performing every possible option to get rid of the payroll payment reminder in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @jirah007. Let me point you in the right direction on how you can fix this issue. This way, you can keep your payroll account's tax transactions updated.
When your payroll forms and tax payments notifications (i.e., 940 for 2019 and 2020) still show unfilled and unpaid even if you're done processing them, there's a need to further investigate what's causing this system's behavior. Since I'm unable to pull up your account here in the Community for security purposes, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Care team. They can securely verify your account and guide you with a fix.
In case you want to talk to one of our representatives to relay this matter, you need to request a callback. Here's how:

In the meantime, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your payroll account in QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about subscription management and payroll benefits, to name a few. You can click the + More topics button to view other selections like taxes.
Let me know in the comments below if you have other payroll concerns or inquiries about managing your tax form filings and payments in QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
Thank you. This error happened 2 years in a row for me and both times my CPA made journal entries to correct the ledger. The message did not go away. I think it happened to other users as well. We have sold our business and longer need the payroll service, so I have cancelled the subscription. Hopefully they can fix the problem for other users but I will not be able to help debug it.
