I ran payroll wrong date how can I fix this

Hello, colonial3.

I'd be glad to share solutions on how you can correct the date on your payroll.

You can void or delete the paychecks to correct the dates. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Payroll menu
  2. Select the Employees tab.
  3. Click the Paycheck list link under the Run payroll button.
  4. Check the paycheck you want to void or delete.
  5. Select either Delete or Void.
  6. Tick the I understand that this action cannot be undone checkbox.
  7. Choose Delete Paycheck or Void to confirm the deletion.

You can also open the paycheck and click the Void or Delete button at the bottom of the page.

For more details about this process, check out this article: Delete or void employee paychecks

However if the payroll is from a previous period where taxes are already paid (or if you can't void or delete the paychecks), you'll want to contact our support. Our agents will use their tools to force the system to accept the corrections.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Click the Help icon.
  2. Select Talk to a human (or type it in the chat box).
  3. When asked, enter "payroll under the wrong date" in the chat box.
  4. Choose I still need a human.
  5. Click the Get help from a human link.
  6. Choose how you want to reach us.

After fixing the issue, do you need help getting all of your payroll liability data? You can run a variety of payroll reports in QuickBooks. Check out this guide for more details: Run payroll reports
