I appreciate you for reaching out to the Community, @zerepha.
To identify why your payroll service is on hold, I have to check the status of your account. Since the Community is a public forum, I'm unable to review the connection without asking for sensitive information.
Reaching out to our Payroll Support Team ensures that you'll be able to get back on track with using the service. Let’s log in to your company to view the support details:
You can reach them within this time: Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM PST.
I suggest visiting the All Online Payroll - NSF Holds article for more insights about the variety of hold types. It also contains some FAQs, such as why your payroll account is on hold.
Stay in touch whenever you have additional questions about QBO. I’m here to make sure you’re taken care of. Have a great rest of the day.
I am very unhappy. I am new to online payroll, and noticed the dates were wrong on the paychecks while i was printing them. No one is available after 6 even though i kept getting contact us messages, then called gave all my info to the robo operator, who said ok let me connect you with an expert. Then I was told that the call hours are from 6 to 6 PST.
I deleted all the paychecks, entered the correct dates, and pay date, re-entered all the payroll, hit preview checks, and got a message that my service was on hold. Payday is tomorrow, and I'm not happy that I have to call in the morning and wait an hour for someone to talk with me.
REALLY? There has to be another way.

Thanks for joining this conversation, @SoCalGal.
As much as I would love to take care of this, we're unable to pull up your account here in the Community without asking your account details. I don't want them to be displayed here for security purposes.
To verify why your payroll is on hold, I highly suggest contacting our Payroll Support team again. They're able to pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate this odd behavior. They can also remove the hold so you can submit payroll.
Here's how to reach them:
Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: All Online Payroll - NSF Holds.
Please let me know if you have any other issues or concerns, so I can get back to you as soon as possible. I'm more than willing to assist. Enjoy the rest of the day!
