NC's new unemployment tax sytem-NCSuits is going live 11/13/23 replacing their old mainframe. Will QB online payroll update to file the forms and payments there?

So far, it's just you as far as I can tell.  So you created the txt file like usual (same way we've been doing it for years).  Saved the txt file.  Uploaded the txt file and chose EFW2 as the file type?  Other options are csv and ICESA - what made you choose EFW2? Thanks.

Being that QB so recently forced us from Standard to Enhanced payroll, 4Q 2023 was my first experience with this.  I clicked 'E-File State SUI' and chose NC from the state dropdown list and got to an excel worksheet.  From there, in the top left I chose 'Quickbooks Payroll State SUI file' and the 'Start Interview', followed the prompts and it created the file.  Note that there is a window that comes up in the process that says Employee Count 0 and SUI Wages 0 - ignore that, my file populated with correct numbers.  You need to make sure that the file type - .txt is part of the name you assign to the file.  In uploading it, didn't use .csv because that is an excel file type and I'm sure I read somewhere that ICESA is some kind of specialized file.  In looking at DES FAQ for the process (which oddly is not available from within SUITS, nor any other kind of help) it says to use .efw as file type so you might try that, though I'm sure I used .txt.

Seriously, I'm not any happier with NCSUITS than with QB at this point.  That is just about the poorest excuse for an online service I've ever seen.

Please let me know how it goes, just because I'm curious.

So hopefully you were able to figure this out, but I am posting my experience just so someone else may be able to struggle through it.  With the LATEST Qbooks update installed, generate the file in Excel that then creates the NC_Quarterly.txt file.  Open the NCDES website and login.  Click the Wage Submission tab and click submit wages.  So, then a variety of options are presented, but you want to upload file. Here is where you make certain that you change the file type to EFW2. Do NOT change the file name of extension. Now is the stupid ... well one of the stupid parts.  Once you upload this with your email address put in (why this is necessary?), you will get an email back ... as long as it went through with a green indicator... RED? it has a problem with the file.

once you get the email back and it says it's being processed, you WAIT..... Mine was THE NEXT DAY!!! and you get ANOTHER EMAIL stating this. THEN you can go pay by clicking on the Payments tab.  Now HOW NC got to the point of thinking that THIS steaming pile of $%$# was somehow better than the 15 to 30 minutes of time that it USED to take... I DON'T KNOW.  To add to this, QUICKBOOKS DID NOT HELP the situation by not knowing ANYTHING about ANYTHING.  I spent the better part of FOUR HOURS on the phone with 3 people who meant well but had NO CLUE. Also, I have not seen a SINGLE one of these QBOOKS employees who, in this thread, have stated that as soon as they get information on how to do this, they will be right there to help us. We spend WAY TOO MUCH MONEY to put up with this.  The NEXT ISSUE: WHICH ELECTED OFFICIAL signed off on THIS GARBAGE?????  WHOES Nephew got the money to make this THIS terrible? The process is horrible compared to what it was.  No sense at all.

Sorry about the caps....  YES, I WAS YELLING!!!
