Are there any updates on being able to efile/epay for NC in QB desktop? How do I enroll NC in QB? Or will it automatically appear under payroll setup?

As mentioned by my colleagues above, North Carolina has implemented a new tax system. Our engineers are already aware of this change. 

Although, we don't have a specific timeframe for when it implemented. Rest assured, as soon as North Carolina's new unemployment tax system (NCSUITS) is available, this will be added to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Every single QB Desktop-using company in NC needs more help seeing as Intuit has done absolutely ZERO towards resolving this issue.  I know for me, I am going to submit Q2 on paper and take the $$ penalties imposed by the State.  I suggest we all file do the same and then file a class action lawsuit - Intuit is not providing what we pay an arm and a leg for.

Why does QuickBooks keep saying they HAVE fixed this ("download the latest payroll update!") when they HAVE NOT?!  I've just sent off my non-allowed PAPER submittal to the State.  I hope everyone does the same and goes after Intuit for all of the penalties incurred.

And what on earth would sales tax exemption have to do with anything?  Does whoever designed this idiotic "help" system not realize that offering articles about 1000% unrelated topics just makes it all the more obvious that these are either bots, morons, or just poor hapless souls that have never seen QB in their lives but desperately need the few cents they're getting paid per hour?

BTW the bot (or whatever) comment I replied to said if anyone needs any more help with THIS issue, to keep leaving replies; now it's saying shut up about this issue and only leave a reply "if you have any other concerns BESIDES the new unemployment tax system in North Carolina".

It is unbelievable that the system that NC put in place is not BACKWARDS compatible.  That being said, it is even MORE unbelievable that QUICKBOOKS or Intuit, whom we pay crazy amounts of money to, has not managed to get their "engineers" to come up with a solution to either convert the old format or to do in seamlessly.  Telling us they will get on it when it's available when it's already been available to them probably 6 months or more is absolutely ridiculous.

Any update yet for QBO and NCSuits? I've wasted hours talking to QBO "support" for the last 3 months trying to understand why I have to manually pay NCSuits when we pay for QBO Payroll Premium. Not once did one of the support reps mention they don't have the ability and it's a QB programming issue; I had to learn that here.  I am beyond frustrated and angry.

We pay thousands for the privilege of using qbooks enterprise desktop and the premium payroll support.  Our file was started almost 30 years ago and we have paid a small fortune for various packages checks posters.... faithfully buying their software.  This chang has been known for 2 quarters now at least and I don't believe the state and intuit have not communicated on this. They keep copying and pasting the same BS answer about when it's available they will get on it. The state has a "solution" that is ridiculous.  Fun reading. It involves taking the books generated file and inserting columns here and there and changing all numbers ..ssn to no spaces... dollar amounts to no decimal points or commas. It actually looks to me that qbooks could take their instructions and create an automatic version.  Of course, the state should NEVER have made this incompatible with the OWN SYSTEM! 

Bottom line... we pay these people for a service.  And we are NOT getting what we pay for.

Really?  Where have you been for the last 4 months when I started this thread?  Intuit needs to take responsibility for this issue and take of it sooner than later.  We are paying Intuit to take care of these type of issues.  Total BS on your part!

I'm with everybody else, Intuit has seriously dropped the ball on this issue and lead many of us on a time wasting wild goose chase with their misinformation and blatant lies.  It's a shame that the most widely used accounting software vendor has so little respect for those of us who they are dragging along into more and more expensive (so called) solutions, like it or not.  If Sage would do some aggressive marketing and pick up a greater market share to become so widely used, I would switch in a heartbeat.  Of course, I guess that doesn't guarantee a higher level customer service.

That being said, I actually was able to file NCUI by uploading the QB generated file for Q1 2024. That still doesn't excuse Intuit's mishandling of it.

Thank you for your response.  Just to confirm that this week you were able to create the file that uploaded to NC Suits because I have not tried it as of yet.  Too busy with tax returns to deal with this issue yet.  Thank you for your help!

I actually did it last week.  Just follow the steps to get the .txt file and upload that.  Went OK.  A tip:  In the NCSuits site when it says it has accepted your info, the report may not show up right away, so come back later and check it.  The first couple I did showed up pretty quickly so when the next one didn't I kept uploading it again thinking something had gone wrong.  It never told me it had been done.  Went back a few hours later and there it was.

Did not work for me, got an error when I tried to upload the txt file created by QuickBooks.

Dunno, maybe it is working for some and not others for some unknown reason.  Have you downloaded the most recent PR update?  Otherwise I think I would try NCDES support; seems they are quite knowledgeable about the issues and may be able to pinpoint the problem.  Surely can't be any worse that QB support (complete waste of time).  Then, I don't know, maybe something has fallen apart since the time I did mine.
