Exporting your QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac is easy. Here's how:
Once done, you can now import the .iif file to your QuickBooks Mac. Refer to these steps:
Meanwhile, QBOP has several ready-made payroll reports that you can open to view your employee data and monitor your business finances. To give you a list of reports and an overview of what data they display, head to the Payroll reports page.

Thank you for responding. Nothing downloads. There is no file to open. QBO thinks it is successful but nothing happens; now there are no more transactions to export so my payroll is lost. Any other ideas?

You can check your Chart of Accounts and verify if your payroll transactions were exported successfully since those payroll transactions are lost in the Export menu. Let me show you how.
Also, try locating the files on the Downloads folder on your PC or your browser's settings to see where it's saving your downloads.

I'm aware of all of these things. Nothing imported; nothing is in my downloads folder. QBO thinks it sent files and it didn't.

I appreciate you responding to this thread and keep us updated about the resolution provided. Since you're still not able to export transactions from QuickBooks Online, I'd recommend you clear your browser's cache to refresh the stored preference that might be causing the issue.
