Past due liability that is really not past due

I have and liability showing past due that is not really past due.  It is for SS company paid.  I am assuming it has something to do with COVID pay.  I have verified that nothing is due with my accountant but it is still showing as balance due in my payroll liability screen and it is showing past due.  How do I get rid of this?

Welcome to the Community space, @Misty Johnson.

I appreciate you for sharing the details with me and for verifying the liability payment with your accountant. Let me share with you some troubleshooting steps to isolate this issue. I recommend downloading the latest tax table to ensure your payroll is up to date.

Once done, run the Verify Rebuild utility tool. This tool scans your company file for errors and easily fixes them right away. Here’s how in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To Verify:

  1. Navigate to the Window menu and select Close All.
  2. Then, go to the File menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Click Verify Data.

To Rebuild: .

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Rebuild Data.

You can also check this article for more details about the process: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

If the issue persists after going through the steps above, you can refer to this article for additional troubleshooting steps: Scheduled liabilities payroll show as overdue or in red.

In addition to this, let me add this article that you can read for reference in filing your payroll taxes online: Pay and file your payroll taxes online.

Let me know if you have any other concerns or questions about managing your liabilities or with your QBDT software. I’ll be around to back you up. Keep safe.
