If you're using Quickbooks Desktop (QBDT) Assisted Payroll, you're unable to edit or change an employee's information. This is possibly why the program freezes.
That said, I highly suggest contacting our Assisted Payroll support team. They have tools that can pull up your account and edit the employee's information for you. Please refer to this article for the detailed steps on how to reach them: How to contact support.
