I have outstanding payroll liabilities that are overdue on my Payroll Liabilities window. How do I delete them as they are not due? I have adjusted the accounts to be the correct amount at the end of year 2022, but still show payments need to be made.
Hello there, @lisaballard4265.
I want to ensure you're able to keep your payroll liabilities accurate in QuickBooks. Therefore, I would like to ask a few verifying questions.
What's the purpose of the adjustment you've made? Is your schedule incorrect? That's why you don't have due? Can you provide more details about your payroll liability concern? Any additional info will help me provide the appropriate resolution of the issue.
Keep me updated in the comments below. Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. Take care and stay safe!
Payments were made manually through the EFTPS system and not through QuickBooks. I've got 4 checks of liability payments due throughout the year anywhere from .01 to .08 cents each. I adjusted the liability account to reflect 12/31 the amount due for December so the new year reflects properly, but still have these 4 checks in the pay liability window that need to be cleared (not paid).
Thanks for getting back to the thread, @lisaballard4265.
I'd be happy to provide the information aligned to achieve your goal.
If payments were paid outside but never entered QBDT, you must manually record them to avoid outstanding liabilities. To record them, you can enter the payment in Pay Scheduled Liabilities. However, if you don't the payment to reflect again in your bank, you can use the YTD adjustment.
Here's how you can enter the payment using the Enter Prior Payments option in the YTD Adjustment window:
