Payroll Liabilities

My payroll liabilities tab shows an orange exclamation point. When I click on the tab, no liabilties show up. Why do I have the orange exclamation point?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your payroll concern, lglass858.

I recognize how important it is for your company to have accurate payroll data, especially during this year-end season. I'm here to assist you in navigating through the process of clearing the alert in your Payroll Liabilities tab.

The orange exclamation point indicates that some alerts or notifications require your attention. Let's head over to the Payroll Item List and open up the payroll item in question to ensure it's set up correctly. Follow these simple steps:

  1. In your company file, head to the Lists menu at the top bar and choose Payroll Item List.
  2. This will open a page that shows the list of all payroll items.
  3. From there, look for the liability item or pay type and right-click beside it to select Edit Payroll Item.
  4. In the Edit payroll item window review the information and make sure all fields are complete.
  5. Click Next until you reach the Finish option.

For additional reference, I've included an article that contains solutions on how to troubleshoot liabilities issues: Fix overdue or red scheduled liabilities in QuickBooks Desktop.

I've included some resources to help you resolve discrepancies in your Payroll Liability Balances report, correct employees’ year-to-date (YTD) data, and provide a checklist of tasks required to complete the year-end. Feel free to review each article to know the full details:

Keep in touch if you still have additional questions about payroll liabilities or concerns about how to handle payroll notifications or alerts. I'll be more than happy to lend a helping hand. Enjoy the rest of the day, lglass858.

Payroll Liabilities

All my payroll items are complete, all my liabilities are paid through April 2024, I still have the Orange Exclamation point and don't understand why.
