Payroll Protection Program Forgiveness Payroll Reports

My question is about the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), specifically for forgiveness of the loan.

Will Quickbooks create a special payroll report that I can generate with the information needed

to provide to the SBA for forgiveness? Many other payroll companies have already provided
a report for loan forgiveness, I have not been able to find anything similar in my account.  I'd like to stay on top of this to inform my superiors that we will be able to get the proper reports for forgiveness on this loan.

The links that I have found have great information, however do not provide specifics on generating

the needed payroll reports for PPP loan forgiveness...Please help.

Most everything I see here is for quickbooks or QBonline. Where can I create a PPP forgiveness report using my service: intuit online payroll?

Thanks for following the thread, @mcmeek

I'm happy to provide you the steps for running the report when using Intuit Online Payroll.

To do this:

  1. Go to Reports. Then, click on the Payroll Details report.
  2. You'll need to filter the report by The last 12 months, All locations, and choose Summary by Employee
  3. Hit Update Report.

You can check out additional details in Get the correct payroll report to help you apply for a loan under the Paycheck Protection Program under the Intuit Online Payroll section.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I'll be here every step of the way. You can reach out to the Community any time. Enjoy the rest of your day. You certainly deserve it!

Your instructions make no sense @Tori B .  The FORGIVENESS reports we need do not include information about "the last 12 months".  It's unbelievable that Intuit has not provided better reporting for this relatively simple calculation.

ADP and Paychex knock it out of the park in this regard.  Excellent reporting from almost every other payroll provider.

@Smarty Books  I totally agree.

It's unbelievable that even now -- September 18, 2020 -- QB Payroll has no reasonable report to help us file the PPP Forgiveness.   The rules governing this calculation have remained untouched, with the exception of qualifying owner's compensation since day 1.  Every other payroll company has something to offer.

The "Cash Compensation" report is a poor first step.  It does not identify retirement or health insurance costs (inexplicably lumping them into an "accrued" category).  And it does not even correctly capture the gross wages, since it relies on paycheck DATE only.  (Wages earned OR paid during the covered period are eligible).

And finally, no attempt is made to express either the HOURS worked or the wages from the comparative periods (prior to Covid).

This is a disaster.

This is not what I want you to feel, @Worrelldpeace.

I recognized the importance of having a report you need for filing the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Forgiveness in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. Rest assured, our engineering team is diligently working on an update on a report that you can use to file the PPP Forgiveness.

In the meantime, you can follow the steps shared by my colleague Tori B to file for the PPP Forgiveness.

You can also check these articles for additional reference:

I also encourage checking our QuickBooks Blog page regularly to stay updated on the latest news and updates in QuickBooks.

Let me also add this article that can guide you on how to keep track of the funds you spend for the PPP: Track how you use your Paycheck Protection Program loan.

You’re always welcome to post a reply in this thread if you have other follow-up questions or queries about PPP in QBO. I’ll be around to answer them for you. Keep safe.

My bank is requiring a report from my third party Payroll service that meets the Proof of Payment requirements.  This is not the 941, quarterly wage statement or any report that I might generate myself.  How can I get this report?

Hi MTaylor2.

Thanks for dropping by the Community, I have a quick question, are you using QuickBooks Online Payroll or a 3rd party payroll service? I ask because the steps to pull the required report differ depending on what you're using. Having said that, I'm providing the steps if you're using the former.

  1. Go to Workers or Payroll menu, then select Overview.
  2. Select View Report on the New Average Monthly Qualified Payroll Cost report notification
  3. Select the desired lookback period from the Lookback Period dropdown
  4. Select Printer-friendly version link just above the image of the report.

Note: This report is specific to the needs of the Paycheck Protection Program loans, and so it is only available to view from within the Workers Tab in QuickBooks.

I'm also including a helpful article where you can find these steps and much more information as well: Get the correct payroll report to help you apply for a loan under the PPP

If you have any other questions, feel free to post here anytime, night or day. Thank you and have a lovely afternoon.

Hi Cher0129.

Thanks for dropping by the Community this afternoon. If you check out that link I provided above it includes the steps for both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.

Regardless, I'm happy to provide you the steps to pull that same report in your Desktop product, Here's how:

  1. Select Reports, then PPP Average Monthly Payroll Cost.
  2. Select the desired lookback period from the Lookback Period dropdown.
  3. Select Print or Export.

I'm also attaching the link down below, just in case you can't find it above.

If there's anything else I can help with, feel free to post here anytime. Thank you and have a nice afternoon.

Thanks so much - I tried submitting that and the bank said it will not work.

It does not show 'Proof' of payment.

I am using Intuit Quickbooks Desktop Assisted Payroll.  In any case, I do not believe they will be satisfied with a report that I can generate.  Having applied and been denied, I believe they are looking for a report that is generated by the Third Party payroll company, and in my case that is Intuit.  If I don't get the report I need I will no longer support Intuit or Quickbooks.  I can not fathom how this report has not been made available.

Having the same issue and just keep getting the same response from Intuit.  And they send a link to file for the loan, not to file for forgiveness.  I was told to send bank statements but I don't see how that is going to help unless I also send every cancelled payroll check.

So what you are saying is that there is no Intuit payroll report that can be run for PPP forgiveness applications?  It seems irresponsible to me that Intuit was taking PPP loan applications but has no supports in place to run payroll reports through their own service when every other payroll company out there is already offering this.  I really hope I am wrong.

Thanks for following up on this thread, @staceyAFC.

I can see how important it is for you and other customers to have a report that will generate the data required for the loan. We make sure to provide the tools needed so our customers can easily process the Paycheck Protection Program loan.

As mentioned by @Nick_M, you can run the New Average Monthly Qualified Payroll Cost Report (QBOP) or the PPP Average Monthly Payroll Cost (QBDT). Then, submit any of this one to your lender. To build it, I suggest following the steps shared by my colleague.

Having same issue with needing an official report from Intuit that proves payment of payroll. Our lender requires this for PPP forgiveness. Will Intuit offer such a report?

I have already submitted the PPP Cash Compensation and PPP Average Monthly Payroll Cost reports from Quickbooks desktop to our lender and they are not accepting these as proof of payment.

I can see how having a report for filing the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Forgiveness in QuickBooks would be helpful for you, and I'll take note of this. Our Product Developers are always looking for ideas from users on how to improve QB.

In the meantime, I recommend visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features. Here's the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/.

Still waiting for the same reports that will be accepted by lenders for PPP loan forgiveness.  I use Quickbooks Desktop You have the cash compensation report and the PPP Average monthly, can you guys add whatever it is that willmake it official report from Intuit/Quickbooks that we Quickbooks users can use to apply for loan forgiveness that will be acceptable to the lenders?  I have read postings about it being denied because it's not in PDF format and not having Quickbooks name and Logo, can you guys not do that?  I see postings about this same questions for months.  PLEASE provide us with the reports acceptable to the lenders as third party reports.

QuickBooks,

You are my accounting software provider and my payroll service.  My bank recommends getting proof of payroll payments from my payroll service provider to apply for PPP forgiveness.

Please get cracking and provide proof of payment links to reports within your software that will meet SBA criteria for authentic proof.

Looking forward to results and not more excuses you have been giving your users/community.

Can we PLEASE get an answer as to When we can have Quickbooks reports that will be accepted as THIRD PARTY reports that we can use for Loan Forgiveness?  Not really sure why it is taking so long for Quickbooks to come up with these.  We can produce the reports thru Quickbooks Descktop program, it's just that Lenders wont accept it as Third Party report.  Not really sure why it is taking so long for Quickbooks to make this available for us, does not look like it's hard to do.  I've read posts that says their reports were not accepted because it does not contain Quickbooks Name and Logo, etc.  You would think your Research or Product Department, whatever you call them can make a quick call or research as to how and what will make your reports acceptable as Third Party Reports.  This is a big disappointment for us Quickbooks users, holding our loan forgiveness applications.  Thank you

I agree with you, @bendor1126.

I've had a few calls and chat discussions with QB support, and they don't seem to understand the problem. It's very frustrating. I send feedback requesting reports that we can use, you might want to do the same, if you haven't already. Maybe if enough of us speak up they will do something.

I have clients that are leaving me due to Intuit Online Payroll not being able to provide the third party reports for loan forgiveness.  Intuit has a solution for all other platforms.  This is absolutely unacceptable.
