Hello there, MonicaG, there are ways to resolve the NSF in QuickBooks.
Since the tax deposit for your payroll didn't go through, we'll have to look at the email we've sent to the Principal Officer or Primary Principal listed on your payroll account. It contains a specific return code [RXX] and all the information.
You'll see one of the following subject lines from the email:
- Important: Direct Deposit Payment Unsuccessful. Urgent Issue with the Payroll Account for [Business Name]
- Intuit Payroll Services Action Required: Payment Request for Failed Payroll Debit
- Intuit Payroll Services Action Required: Partial Payment Received
- Important: Tax Payment Unsuccessful. Urgent Issue with the Payroll Account for [Business Name]
On the same day that we get the notification from your bank, we'll redebit your account. Your service will be on hold for five banking days to ensure that the redebit is successful.
However, if the redebit fails, we have two options below to pay your balance due. Please check this article and go to the Step 2: Resolve the NSF section: Resolve a non-sufficient funds (NSF) hold on your payroll service
In case you can't find the email, I recommend checking it in your spam folder. We can also contact our Suport Team for further assistance. We can utilize the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help F1.

Also, we can visit these articles to learn more details about running payroll reports:
