payroll updates

Does anyone have issues with the payroll items updates? My state UI limits have not been updated and I just got off the chat support site where I was transferred 7 times and couldn't handle it any more!

You can see the updates that have been delivered by going to Employees | Get Payroll Updates and then clicking the Payroll Update Info button.

 

If your UI tax isn't listed, then it hasn't been updated yet. Most updates to rates and limits happen before the prior year ends. If that hasn't happened, it is usually because the state publishes the change late. In such a case the update will usually be in the next payroll update, probably mid-January. At least, that's how it has been in the past.

QuickBooks Desktop Payroll provides payroll updates to QuickBooks Desktop Payroll subscribers. These updates include the most current and accurate rates and calculations for supported state and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and e-file and pay options. If your state unemployment insurance (UI) is not yet updated in QuickBooks Desktop, then it's not yet included in the latest Payroll Update. The latest Payroll Update we have is 22401, which was released on December 14, 2023. Once you receive you receive an email notification or pop-up message in the software about the newest tax table, just download the latest tax table. Just go to Employees, then select Get Payroll Updates.

 

To know your tax table version:

 

  1. Check the number next to You are using tax table version:
  2. To identify if it’s the correct version, see the latest payroll news and updates.
  3. To find more details on your tax table version, click Payroll Update Info.

 

To get the latest tax table:

 

  1. Click Download Entire Update.
  2. Tap Update. An informational window appears when the download is complete.

 

 Your SUI rate isn’t part of the normal tax table updates in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. We'll need to update it manually. Feel free to browse this link here if you need help with other tasks in QuickBooks Payroll. It'll route you to our general payroll topics with articles.
