Buy nowAnyone have an idea why my payroll will not update? I tried to contact support and I can not respond. I type and nothing on the screens.
@balancedbooksllc-janhinze Absent any information, the most common cause would be a lapse in your payroll subscription or an issue with the internet on the device you are using Desktop on.
Is your subscription active?
My payroll subscription is up to date.
I appreciate your swift reply, Balancedbooks. At times, internet disruptions can prevent payroll updates. Let's collaborate to ensure you can effectively update your account in QuickBooks Desktop.
I would like to know if you experienced any error messages during the process. Knowing this will help me investigate further and give you the correct solution if needed.
First, please verify that the internet cable is connected to your PC. You can unplug it and plug it back in. You can also reach out to your internet provider for any maintenance updates. Once done, update your payroll to the latest release again.

Login to CAMPS and check your license status. Make sure your QB Desktop Plus and Enhance Payroll status are Active.
Thank you for replying. My license is active and I can prepare payroll for other clients. I have never heard of an account being placed on HOLD. They are told me that they requested information from my client, which I knew nothing about. Have you heard of them asking for DL's license and bank statements?
This client's email was hacked a few months ago and I seriously do not think that she (an attorney) will be willing to send them that type of information.
I have been using QuickBooks for over 30 years and needless to say I am very frustrated. I will be looking at alternative software beginning today.

Does your client have their own QB Desktop license? What does this have to do with your clients’ data requests and the license you use?
Yes, my subscription is active. Can prepare payroll for other clients. Just seems a little strange to me.
@balancedbooksllc-janhinze I don't know about the bank statement bit, but Intuit has been increasingly stringent about IDs and personal information, both for owners and, bizarrely, employees. So, not at all surprised that they'd try for a driver's license.
I expect it's a mixture of adhering to the increased government oversight and wanting to harvest data for their own marketing purposes. At least, I hope it's only for marketing purposes.
I have my own payroll license and prepare payroll for numerous clients. My license is up to date. When I run payrolll updates on this one client, they will not update past 02/08/25. So, this shuts down my ability to prepare payroll. I am having to manually calculate SS/MC etc. Not impossible to do, but I can not get a response from QBs other than the account is on HOLD. Never heard of this before. Why do can I prepare payroll for all of my other clients and not this one? They are new requesting her DL and 6 months of bank statements. Again, I have never hear of this before. I am going to look at other software - which I do not really want to do. I have used QuickBooks for over 30 years. Very frustrating!
