I see this is your first question so let me take the time to welcome you here to the Intuit Community, @AS203.

I'm here to share some information about importing various list and transaction types from Excel to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

At this time, you can only import Customer, Vendor, Items, and Chart of Accounts from Excel spreadsheet, and importing payroll information is unavailable. You'll need to manually enter those paychecks as a workaround. Here's how:

1. Go to Employees menu at the top and pick Pay Employees on the drop-down.
2. Put a checkmark on the employee's name and click Open Paycheck Details.
3. Enter the necessary information, then Save & Close.

I can see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business. Rest assured, I'm going to submit a feature request from my side, which is sent to the Product Development Team. They're constantly looking for great ideas from users, like yourself, when deciding how to enhance QuickBooks.

I also invite you to send feedback and suggestions as well. This will help them know how this option will make your QuickBooks experience smoother. Here's how:

1. At the top menu bar, go to Help, then pick Send Feedback Online.
2. Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
3. Select Skip and send a message, then choose Feedback as the Category.

That should answer your concern for today. Please know that I'm only a few clicks away if you have any follow-up questions. Wishing you and your business continued success!

You can't import actual paychecks into QB, but since you're using an outside payroll service, you don't really need to.  Instead you can import the checks as standard check type transactions.

Use our BRC IIF Transaction Creator Pro  to convert an Excel worksheet listing your checks to an IIF file you can import directly into QuickBooks.
