I'll help you get back to work, I need to reactivate.

We'll have to take note that payroll subscription in QuickBooks Online is different from QuickBooks Desktop. Since you've mentioned that you've just recently moved to QuickBooks Online, we can activate your payroll subscription so that you'll be able to create paychecks and the numbers of your employee's federal withholding and social security would work.

Here's how to turn it on:

  1. Go to the Workers menu and click Employees.
  2. Click Get Started or Set up Payroll.
  3. Choose the type of service that you want to use.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setting up your payroll account.

If you're unable to view this option, you can dial the number of our Sales Team through this link:

I would also recommend checking out our QuickBooks Online Payroll Hub. It will help you set up and process payroll, manage employees, pay taxes, and file tax forms using QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced.

Should you need further assistance in managing your payroll and employees, I've got you covered. Have a great weekend ahead.

These steps do not work. I spent 3 hours on chat on Friday with no resolution, and the issue was closed without being resolved.

Hi there, @I need to reactivate.

Thanks for providing an update on getting your payroll reactivated. I'm happy to step in and help you where chat left off, but there are a few questions I need you to answer first.

  • Do you have the same EIN/TIN for your companies?
  • Is your payroll currently active?
  • Can you edit your information in the employee's profile W-4s?

By answering these questions, I can help you figure out how to add numbers to your employee's federal withholding and Social Security. In the meantime, you may want to check out this article on verifying and editing and employee's Social Security Number.

I'll be on standby awaiting your response.
