We'll have to take note that payroll subscription in QuickBooks Online is different from QuickBooks Desktop. Since you've mentioned that you've just recently moved to QuickBooks Online, we can activate your payroll subscription so that you'll be able to create paychecks and the numbers of your employee's federal withholding and social security would work.
Here's how to turn it on:
- Go to the Workers menu and click Employees.
- Click Get Started or Set up Payroll.
- Choose the type of service that you want to use.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setting up your payroll account.
