When paychecks are written in the general journal the net amount instead of the gross amount is saving and messing up my books. HELP!!!

Hey there, @B52bohmer

Thanks for reaching out to the Community for support. I hope you're enjoying the day so far. I'm happy to lend a hand with your paychecks.

To clarify, are you entering the checks as Journal Entries? If so, you'll need to speak with your accountant for the best knowledge to enter them into your account. Your accountant will know the right course of action for your business. If you don't have an accountant, don't sweat. You can find one here in our Resouce Center

On the other hand, if you're not using Journal Entries, do you mind sharing a screenshot along with the steps you're taking to enter the checks? Knowing further details will better assist me with providing you the most accurate steps to enter your checks.

In the meantime, feel free to check out How do I create a paycheck for an employee? for additional information about entering paychecks in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response and look forward to chatting with you soon. Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. Take care and have a great day!
