QB Online payroll schedules

My client just switched from Sage to QBO.     They are a private school so they have some employees that are paid 24 periods per year (biweekly) while a handful of others are only paid 20 periods per year (not paid in the summer months of June and July).  Is there a way to properly schedule the employees with the 20 period pay schedule?

QB Online payroll schedules

We'll get through with this, Lana.

Currently, we can only set the following pay schedules in QuickBooks Online:

  • Weekly
  • Biweekly
  • Semi-monthly
  • Monthly

Regarding with the employees with 20 periods only, we can still set them the Biweekly schedule. Then, make sure you won't include them when you run payroll for June and July. Note that you can change the pay periods.

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Payroll, select the Pay Schedules hyperlink.
  3. In the Pay Schedules, click Edit for the Biweekly pay schedule.
  4. Correct the Pay Period and the Pay Date.
  5. Click OK.

We'll be right here if you need anything else. Have a great day!
