They also said I'd hear from the back-end team a week or two ago.  Hasn't happened.

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

Hi, TheMaximus.

Since you're still experiencing the same issue, I'd recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team so we can make another investigation about this matter and verify your account.

You can reach out to them through this link: QuickBooks Online Support.

Additionally, I've added some articles about handling your payroll accounts and other related topics.

Just let me know if you have other questions. Have a good one!

I was told not to worry, I'd be contacted, 'rest assured'.  I guess I should worry.

Also, the links you provided don't work for IOP phone support.  The chat is useless, they just say they'll get back to me soon and never do.  Same thing with a phone call a month or more ago.

Phone links don't work for IOP.  Chat sings the same tune, 'don't worry, engineers working on it, you'll be contacted.  No, I cannot provide a timeframe.'

Notably a different tune than is sung here publicly that everything is ready to migrate.  On chat and by phone, they acknowledge there are backend problems with some accounts that cannot be migrated at this time.

In the same boat here.  Everyday I sit on the phone or chat.  Always the same answer.  I will refer you case to the BACK END TEAM.  Who is that anyways and why can't I talk with them.  Obviously there is an issue and no one is willing to help.  What a crap show.  I need to do payroll and file taxes just like everyone else.  What the heck is going on and why is this acceptable?  MONTHS without a solution is just irritating.  I know as a business we could not get away with this type of customer service and lack of answers.

I've been communicating directly with Chris O’Rourke at Intuit's Office of the President about having QuickBooks Online Payroll export QIF files that can be brought into Quicken.   We had that capability with Intuit Online Payroll which is being retired.

If you wish to be able to export QIF Files from QuickBooks Online Payroll directly into Quicken - Intuit needs to hear from you.

Please email them at officeofthepresident at intuit.com

Thanks

Intuit needs to hear from you about this problem.  They will only respond if a lot of people communicate.

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

UPDATE:

FRAUD - when quckbooks/inutit converted our online payroll to payroll core some how they have picked up a new administrator and admin password.  Better yet it is the name of a subcontractor that We 1099ed back in 2008.  Even more weird. Since that time we have changed from quickbooks desktop to quickbooks Mac and have gone from desktop payroll to online payroll.  This person has never been associated with our online payroll.  How the holly crap is this happening.  There has always been one access to quickbooks in our company and that has been me.  All the information on the account I can verify including ownership/my and my partners ID's/all accounts associated with our products, just not my name on the new Payroll core.  WTH. where is the accountability when automatically switching software?  So Thursday I get told someone will get back with me in approximately 14 days.  Mean while who knows who really has access to all my employees information.  Identity fraud?

Todays email from QB: Your case ###### is being closed due to inactivity.  We have reached out with no response. They sent me an email on Friday telling me how to log on and change my password and/or how to contact them through online chat.  Seriously I am at the end of my rope with automated answers.  Anyone know how to really contact a human that works for QuickBooks Online Payroll core.

The lack of support for QB Payroll is exactly why I am not waiting until the end of the year for them to transfer my clients to QBO Payroll and, instead, am moving all of my clients away from Intuit payroll and to another payroll platform altogether.

@Adrian_AStill no response from Intuit.  Months past promised resolution timeframe.  Last waste of time chat said when the system prompts DO IT NOW for the migration on login, then it's ready and will work.  It says that in my account now but when I try to migrate it says error code 1005, can't migrate yet.  Need a few more days (yeah, right).

Also says I need to migrate by August 6 to take advantage of the 50% off for 3 months, but of course my account isn't ready to migrate now, let alone August 6.  Horrible customer service and complete disregard for customers - me and others - continues.

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

Has anyone identified another quality online payroll solution that has export to Quicken ("QIF")?

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

I'm delighted to provide you with the export process, @SoloStorm.

I've got steps to ensure you're able to export your QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) data to Quicken. This way, you can manage the data from there as soon as possible.

If you're currently using QuickBooks Online Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll, you'll need to export the data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To start, I'd recommend downloading a QBDT trial version. Ensure that your computer meets the minimum requirements to install QuickBooks. Then leave the account open while you complete the rest of the steps.

After that, let's set up your QBOP preferences so you can now export the data. Please follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to Payroll Settings to set up the preferences.
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to Export
  3. Choose QuickBooks Desktop and tap Continue
  4.  Type in the name of each account you are exporting your liabilities and expenses to.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.
  6. Go back to the Payroll Settings page and choose Export transactions in the Export section.
  7. Click Export

To learn more, click on this link: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.

Once done, you can now import the data to QBDT using Excel. Then convert QBDT to Quicken using the .QIF format.

Follow the steps:

  1. Go to your QBDT account, then choose the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities, then click Import and choose Excel Files.

import data in qbdt.PNG

3. Customize the columns if necessary and follow the online steps.

4. Go back to the Utilities section, then click Convert, and pick Quicken.

5. Tap Convert

For the detailed steps, visit this link: Convert from QuickBooks Desktop to Quicken

As another option, QBO also offers various third-party applications. Go to the QuickBooks App Center to see if there's an app that can help you export your data to Quicken.

Feel free to visit these articles below on how to import or move Quicken data to QuickBooks:

Leave a comment below if you still need more help with converting your data in Quicken. I'd be happy to assist you further. Take care, @SoloStorm.

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

Back in June I tried switching over per the cryptic email and support was absolutely horrible. All the same problems people have discussed in the thread. Been delaying, scared of the ensuring disaster!

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

After the migration from Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) to Quick Books Payroll Core (QBPC), a separate QBO Payroll account was created from the original QBO account I have had for many years, which is now under my accountant. In this new QBPC account, I can see all my previous history and run payroll, but now I have a BIG problem with two Payroll setups! Before the migration, I have added my payroll employees and contractors to my QBO account and start sending checks using the QBPayroll software there. Besides the mess, I am now double billed! :( Spoke to rep yesterday for 1.5 hours and she couldn't not export my payroll data from the migrated account to my official account. I asked her to create a ticket and escalate. I have not received anything after 24 hours!!!

PLEASE HELP ASAP! I DON'T WANT TO OVERPAY TAXES AND GET DOUBLE CHARGED!

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

Thanks, @BettyJaneB - I will call the Customer Care Team again. I was disappointed that after being on the phone for more than one hour, I have not been given a path forward for a solution to the issue, but just call us again. As you know, I cannot afford to spend hours on the phone with your support.

What is the way to create a case in your ticket system and get a number, which then is escalated to the second line of support, which has the technical knowledge to solve the issue of merging two payroll accounts?

I hope you understand my position and help me here!

Questions about migration from Intuit Online Payroll to Quickbooks Payroll Core

@krassibGood luck.  I've had a migration ticket open with support for months and it is not escalated, it is ignored.  Customer service promises 'don't worry, you'll hear back in a couple of weeks'.  Months later, no response.  You can open a ticket with support by chat or phone, but from there it goes into a black hole.  At least that's my experience.  Meanwhile, Intuit has yet to admit publicly here or in their email blasts to customers their migration from IOP is not ready for all customer accounts.

My account says its ready to migrate when I log in - it says "Do it now" which support told me meant it was ready, but then fails with error code 1005.

What about the price change?  I have been using this since Paycycle days.  We are paying $14.50 as base price for each client.  Now, it is about to go to $45?!  So our profit margin is taking a hit.  We are told that the product will be better?!  Sorry, this is wrong and the business we have built is being attacked.  What is the rate change and how can you justify this increase.  I have called and no one can answer this question.

Based on the link you sent me.  We, the accountants, that are using IOP for our clients and paying the bill from us (wholesale) will be billed at the wholesale price level, which for CORE is $22.50 + 4/employee?

This is not how the email explained it and this is why there is a lot of confusion.  The worst part is that we have no Accountant Manager that can address our concerns.  As a Intuit users (meaning I am using IOP, QBO, QB Desktop, and Merchant Services), I spend over $1000 per month on your products.  I think it is silly I do not have a go person to address these concerns rather than an online blog where I have to hunt the answer.
