We’re selling our business (retiring) next month (Jan 2019) and I’ll have 2019 W2 activity. My QuickBooks Enhanced Payroll subscription expires on 2/15/19. Typically, I purchase the QuickBooks Pro/Enhanced Payroll combo from Costo (cheaper by far than a 12-month Payroll Subscription) but since I'll only need Enhanced Payroll for electronic filing of 2019 W2s, I'd rather not have to buy it. A few questions:
TIA,
Eileen
Welcome to the Community family, @itseileen.
I have some information about QuickBooks service discontinuation (Disco) policy information.
With QuickBooks Pro bundle, you'll be experiencing the following scenarios after the discontinuation of the subscription:
The best workaround I can suggest is to save your own copy of all the reports you need. Make sure to pay all taxes and liabilities before you discontinue the service.
The following articles contains additional insights on this matter:
This should provide you information about QuickBooks subscription cancellation. If there's anything else you need from me, you can always drop by the Community again. I'm always here to help. Have a great rest of your day!

Thanks, I have a similar situation. I'm selling my company as soon as the lawyers work out the details. I'm using 2016 QB Pro which won't be supported past May 31. My payroll subscription ends next week (April 15) but I will have a week or two of payroll still to process, taxes to remit, and quarterly tax forms to submit. After April 15 will payroll functionality cease completely or will I just not get QB updates? Can I extend Payroll on a monthly basis, at least until May 31? Thanks.
Hello there, EdwardSam.
As my colleague MariaAlmaT mentioned above, you can still access your forms as well as running a report. Aside from not getting any updates about your QuickBooks file, running payroll is also not available once your subscription ends.
On the other hand, yes you can extend your payroll subscription. I have here an article about the payroll subscription auto renewal period.
Feel free to post here again if you have other questions.
AdrianRose: thanks but that link says I am not authorized to access that page. Perhaps you can quote it here.
Thanks for coming back to the Community and for sharing the complete details of your concern, EdwardSam.
I'll join this conversation to share some insights about QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
As mentioned by my colleague, once QuickBooks Desktop Payroll subscription expires (on April 15, 2019, in your case), you'll no longer be able to use the payroll functions such as creating paychecks, paying taxes and filing forms. For QuickBooks Desktop 2016, you won't be able to access add-on services and will stop receiving updates on May 31, 2019.
As for the support link, I'll share this updated article that has the details about QuickBooks Desktop products and subscriptions:
Manage your QuickBooks Desktop products and subscriptions in CAMPS.
Since you still need to use the payroll functionality, I'd suggesting reaching out to our Payroll Support Team. They can pull up your account and have the resources to help you change to a monthly payment schedule.

Thanks. I had to keep hitting"show more" before I got to the contact a rep line. Chat was down but it gave phone number and I was surprised to have it answered right away and to find someone who handled it for me. I expected an hour on the phone but it took only 10 minutes!
Thank you for keeping me updated, EdwardSam.
