Trying to activate direct deposit on QB Desktop Pro 2022 with enhanced payroll. I already pay unemployment taxes electronically, so thinking bank is connected. Here’s what I’ve done:
Activated my employee for direct deposit and entered all of his detail, went great. Tried to run a check, but when I went to send payroll data to Intuit so he would get a pay stub etc, I received this error:
Problem uploading data to service. Sign-on was rejected. Additional information from the Payroll Service. Problem: Your bank account is not active and you tried to transmit data. Solution: verify your bank account and then resubmit your request (message code 2000)
So, I find some info on activating by bank account and verifying direct deposit. I did this:
Seems simple as mine shows, inactive. So, I click on it to activate and get this:
”to activate go to “QBDT>Employees>My Payroll Service>Activate Direct Deposit, or, go to QBDT>Employees>Pay with Direct Deposit.
When I try the above, I do not have either option of “activate direct deposit” or “Pay with Direct Deposit”, what now????
Can someone help me get my bank activated for direct deposit?????
Thanks,
KimVA
Thanks for checking this out in the Community, KimVA.
First off, I'd like to clarify that the linked bank for e-pay is not directly connected for paying your employees. Direct Deposit has its own process of activation, which is why it asked you to activate and set up bank for this feature.
Second, the error message you're getting indicates that you need to verify your bank for Direct Deposit. You'll need to enter the test debits to check if the account is active and can handle ACH transactions.
Please note that the test debits will show up within two banking days from the time you activated Direct Deposit. They are two less than a dollar amount that needs to be entered in QuickBooks to complete the activation process.
Follow these steps on how to enter once you see it on your bank statement:
Here's an article about this for more details: Enter Direct Deposit Test Debits in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.
Just in case you can't see it, I would recommend reaching out to our Payroll Support Team. They can take a closer look at this and make sure you're able to use Direct Deposit. Please go to this article to get their contact details: Contact Payroll Support.
I'd also like to share additional articles in case you might need them when using Direct Deposit:
Keep me posted if you're able to verify the bank account and pay your employees using Direct Deposit. You can also ask follow-up questions if you still need more help from us.
You pretty much told me to do what I've done. I think you missed this:
You said "Proceed to the Payroll Info section, then click the Verify link under Direct Deposit Bank Account."
Thinking I should just contact support at this point. UHG so frustrated.
Hello there, @KimVA. I want to ensure this will be taken care of.
To start, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is updated to the latest release as well as your payroll tax table. This is to ensure you have the latest components and fixes.
Then, activate the Direct Deposit again. For reference, feel free to check this article: Set up your company payroll for direct deposit.
If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Payroll support team. They can pull up your account in a safe place and help you activate the direct deposit. They also use specific tools to further review the root cause of the problem. Here's how:
Once everything is fine, you can now set up direct deposit for your employee. For the detailed steps, checkout this link: Set up direct deposit for employees.
I'm just around the corner to help if you have any other concerns managing your direct deposit in QuickBooks. Have a good one and stay safe.
