Colorado recently changed the unemployment system, which caused the account number for all businesses to change. As a result, QBO is no longer automatically paying and filing UI taxes for Colorado. I went through the process to configure QBO as a third party agent as seen here. However, at step 8, there is an issue because the requested permission doesn't exist in the CDLE portal. QBO documentation says to add "Submit Employment and Wage Detail" as a role, but the closest option is "Edit Employment and Wage Detail". I added the role two weeks ago to the TPA relationship, but the issue remains. These are the active roles in my CDLE portal for QBO:
View Tax Payments Update and Submit |
Edit Employment and Wage Detail |
View Rate Notice and Voluntary Contribution |
These are the inactive roles:
Edit Account Maintenance |
View Account Maintenance |
Edit Benefit Charges |
View Benefit Charges |
Edit Claims Forms Mailing |
View Employment and Wage Detail |
Edit Tax Payments Update and Submit |
Assign all Edit/Submit Roles |
Edit Workshare |
View Claims Form Mailing |
As you can see, it is currently not possible to follow the directions. The tooltip for "Edit Employment and Wage Detail" says this:
Submit Employment and Wage Detail |
A TPA with the Submit Employment and Wage Detail role can perform the following functions:
|
It looks like the option has been mislabeled, so I'm wondering if that is why the connection is failing to be correctly configured.
Hi there.
I truly appreciate the detailed information you've shared about the Submit Employer employment and wage detail adjustments and the Submit Employer employment and wage details process. This process involves submitting accurate payroll information to government agencies, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, and avoiding potential penalties and interest charges.
By utilizing this process, employers can save significant time and effort associated with manual reporting and reduce the likelihood of errors in their payroll records. Additionally, submitting precise employment and wage details can help employers maintain proper records and provide a clear overview of their employee's compensation and benefits.
Based on your statement, you have already taken action to add a role to the TPA relationship, but the issues are still unresolved. Given the situation's complexity, I suggest you contact our Payroll support team as soon as possible for a more comprehensive and detailed solution. They have the necessary expertise and tools to help you assess the situation, identify the root cause of the problem, and provide you with the most appropriate and tailored solution to resolve the issue permanently.

Keep me posted on how the call goes or if you have additional questions about Colorado unemployment by replying below. We'll be here to answer them. Take care and have a good one!
The problem is the backend code. Predictably, calling did not resolve the issue. It's nothing a support again can correct. I understand that's the only help you can provide, but you should try calling support as a customer sometime. It is beyond frustrating and useless.
100%. This is a Intuit Quickbooks issue and they keep telling us we need to do this and that. I have been trying to get them to resolve this for 6 months now. Intuit should be embarassed. Clearly this is an issue that multiple people are having issue with. They need to contact CDLE and figure out the problem instead of coming up with a bunch of nonsense that us users need to do.
INTUIT, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE USERS, IT IS 100% AN ISSUE WITH YOUR SOFTWARE AND CODING THERE OF. CONTACT THE CDLE AND FIGURE OUT WHY IT IS NOT WORKING. SOMEONE OR MULTIPLE FOLKS NEED TO BE FIRED FROM YOUR COMPANY. 6 MONTHS WITHOUT RESOLUTION? WHAT ARE YOU ALL EVEN DOING OVER THERE? QB AGENTS, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS WITH PARAGRAPHS OF B.S. FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Another month gone by and Intuit hasn’t fixed a thing. Everyone who reads this, I recommend you stop using Intuit products. It is garbage, their service is garbage and they don’t care to fix problems as you can see. Switch to NetSuite if you want sanity. By by Intuit. You suck! I’m tired of talking to a bunch of bs customer service agents in India. You’re company is garbage.
Intuit and QuickBooks absolutely suck!!!!!! Fix the problem!!!!!!
Yes!!! I agree 200%!!! Customer service is HORRIBLE, and the whole problem with Colorado unemployment still has not been resolved!
This is not the experience I wanted you to feel and I recognize how important this matter is, ejr9805.
