Contractor Payments: No options for split direct deposit

I spoke to Quickbooks support today and was informed there was no option for contractors to have split direct deposit payment into separate accounts. This is something I would like to see implemented in a update.

Contractor Payments: No options for split direct deposit

What do you mean by "separate accounts"? Do you need to divide a single bill from your contractor into several payments and use different methods at various stages of the payment?

Contractor Payments: No options for split direct deposit

For our business, all our massage therapists are considered private contractors, not employees. They are paid a weekly commission split for services rendered. Some of our contractors would like to split their their weekly direct deposit between their checking and savings accounts but that doesn't appear to be an option for contractors.

That feature would be very helpful in paying your workers, Michelle Base. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

As of the moment, the option to split direct deposit between two bank accounts is only available for employees. I also think that this is a convenient way to get your contractors paid.

From time to time, we roll out software updates based on the suggestions we received from our customers. I recommend directly sending requests to our Product Development to help improve your experience in the program. I’ll show you how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  3. Choose Feedback, then enter your comments.
  4. When you're done, hit Next to submit your inputs.

For now, you'll want to consider creating two direct deposit payments for your vendors. Before processing the second one, make sure to update their banking information first so it will be posted to the correct account.

  1. Go to the Payroll menu.
  2. Select the Contractors tab.
  3. Open their profile, then head to the Details section.
  4. Click the Change bank account link.
  5. Enter the details and tap Save.

Alternatively, you can visit our market or head to the Apps menu to search for third-party providers that can divide contractor payments.

  1. Select Apps from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click the Find Apps tab.
  3. Enter a keyword in the search bar or select Browse category to filter the results.

Contractor Payments: No options for split direct deposit

@Michelle Base

Do you have a formula for splitting the weekly commission for each therapist or do you just pay the weekly amount and let them decide how to receive it individually in their own savings or checking account?
