BLACK FRIDAY SALE 70% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months* Ends 11/30
Buy nowGood Morning. I use QB online for my small S-Corp with myself as the only employee. Tomorrow is the last day to make any changes for this month's (monthly) payroll. Payroll taxes for this month are automatically paid on 7/15. I need to delay the payment of payroll tax until 7/31. When I go to cancel auto tax payments and uncheck the "Automate taxes and forms" box, it states, "You'll be responsible for paying and filing...beginning with tax periods ending on or after Friday, July 01,2022. I'm not sure when the tax period ends, so if I cancel today, will that prevent the payment on 7/15? Thank you in advance.
Good morning, @mazzolaf.
Thank you for posting your concern about the payroll tax here in the Community. I'm here to share clarification about the popup message when disabling automated taxes in QuickBooks Online.
When paying payroll taxes, the basis for the tax period is the pay period of your paychecks. Since you want to delay the payment for June, yes, the system should prevent making a payment automatically on July 15.
Also, you can review the existing paychecks, pay period end dates, and taxes using a report. I recommend running the Payroll Detail report to view the necessary information.
Here's how:
There are cases in which you pay tax payments outside our payroll system. In case this happens, you can use this article to record the details in QuickBooks: Recording prior tax payments.
Drop me a comment below if you have any other questions about the payroll taxes or any prompts. I'll be happy to help you some more.
Thank you!
