Did your QB rates increase without notice?

Last month I paid $7.50, now I'm paying $15 for the service. There was no notice of increasing prices and also doubling it! I did not agree to this and I want to know if others are experiencing the same problem.

Did your QB rates increase without notice?

Did you signup for your QBSE account 3 months ago? Your discounted rate is over and you have to pay the regular rate now. Another option, 30% off for 6 months

Thanks for letting us know about your billing concerns, @evelynyvan-gmail.

When you first signed up with QuickBooks Self-Employed, our website offers a 50% discount for 3 months. After that, the regular price will apply.

In your case, it could be that you've fully consumed the 3 months discounted price.

You can check out this link for more insights: QBSE Plans and Pricing.

Should you need to verify your billing information, you can chat with one of our QBSE agents through this link: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

Did your QB rates increase without notice?

I am having the same issue. Mine went from $10.70 to $26.75 per month with ZERO notice. We've been a subscriber for years and weren't part of a discounted plan so that isn't a sufficient answer.

Hello there, @booksbooksbooks.

I’d also feel the same if there were unexpected changes to my billing subscription. I want to ensure everything will get sorted out, including why a particular matter occurs. That said, I suggest you contact our Technical Support Team.

Since you’re also certain that your account was not part of a discounted plan, our support can thoroughly check on this securely and provide you with the reasons. Also, they have the option to provide fixes in no time. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
  2. Press the (?) Help icon at the top right corner of the page.
  3. Click the Contact Us button, enter brief information about your concern, and tap Continue.
  4. Under How would you like to connect with us? Select either to Chat with us or get a Callback.

Otherwise, you can refer to this article for their contact information and support hours. You can scroll down to the bottom to get their contact number: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

Feel free to add a reply to notify me if you have more questions about QuickBooks. I’m just a few clicks away. Have a good one!

Did your QB rates increase without notice?

I already did all of that this morning. Useless, they just use some pre written script to tell you how the features have been upgraded and why this is such a good thing.

I am so absolutely upset over the "gouging" increase!! First of all, I believe that Intuit must have sold out to some foreign country!! I always spoke with American's before. I have been with QuickBooks since the very beginning. Now that you can't walk into a store and buy software (with a CD inside to install it), plus there are no CD players in new computers anyway, now you have NO CHOICE but to DOWNLOAD everything and pay for it ONLINE or over the phone. In the beginning, you did not have to Upgrade EVERY YEAR - only every 3 years and that cost me $275.00. I called in last year and they said I had NO CHOICE but to do an ONLINE subscription at $347.54 per year. It upset me but I ended up paying it anyway. Now, this year, they raised it to $549.00 per year!!! Talk about gouging the customers!! That is $200 more per year! And, yes, I too called AGAIN this morning and the lady tried reading her SCRIPT to me, WHY Quickbook IS SO GOOD for the $549.00!! Really???!!! I told her to quit reading a SCRIPT! Intuit knows they have us over a barrel because now that we have used their software for years and have compiled many years of accounting for our business, they know we will pay whatever they MAKE US PAY!! What is next year's price - $750, $1,000???!!! Where does it stop?? You can't convert your Quickbooks files to another company, so we would have to start all over! Plus, when I did search for other companies (plus Intuit says the same thing) - they ALL want you to go ONLINE with your Quickbooks! Really?? They want us to put all our personal business out ONLINE and depend on a WEB SITE to be SECURE and to work?? UNREAL!!! This is the most greedy I've ever seen people in the USA & maybe it's because we aren't dealing with the USA - we are dealing with other countries! Bring our business BACK TO THE USA!! IF I can quit Quickbooks, I will, even though it's going to be hard to do! I truly believe that Intuit will be OUT OF BUSINESS SOON with these greedy prices!! I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR QUICKBOOKS ONLINE, SINCE I DON'T DO ONLINE BILLING!!

@janspc

If you are working solo on a desktop (PC or Mac) to manage your book and only need basic features, you should explore a free program. You can use the program for as long as you like, use all the features and enter as much data as required. There are no time limits, no usage limits, no ads (at this time). This program is quite popular in Asia and Europe.
