We appreciate your time reaching out to us, mac2391.

There are limitations in QuickBooks Desktop as not all forms are available for e-filing within QuickBooks.

If you use QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced, you can get the form in your product and file it manually with the IRS. However, if you use QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted, Form 943 isn't supported.

To know more about the different federal payroll forms, and how our payroll products support them, I recommend checking this article: Understand federal forms and tax payments for 941, 944, 943, and 940.

To help you prepare your tax forms in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, you can check out this article: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

Keep me posted if you have further questions about payroll, I’m always here to help. Have a good day!

Ok, I do understand BUT IT IS REQUIRED now to efile all forms IF you have more than 10!! I have been doing a 943 from QB for over 20 years and by now IT SHOULD be available to be efiled!!! If mailed there will be a penalty for doing so. And so far I have not found an inexpensive way to efile a 943!!!!! You can not tell me that there are NO AG groups that use QB!! I am quite sure that there are many agriculture companies that do use QB! For the amount that I had to pay this past October to renew my payroll for accountants AND the cost of QB renew which I am not sure what that actual renewal was since there IS NO QB2024 to download that is in my available download account!!!

I agree with you, for the price we pay, we should be able to e-file the form. For now we use Tax1099.com to submit them electronically. I hope this helps you.

I have been paying for QB enhanced payroll for over 20 years. I also am required to e-file the 943 form. This needs to be updated before the end of the year.

I appreciate you sharing your concern here in the thread, @Lmendez10.

Let me share some insights about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) limitations for e-filing.

If you use QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced, you can get the form in your product and file it manually with the IRS. However, if you're using QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted, Form 943 isn't supported.

Furthermore, you can browse this article to learn more about the federal payroll forms and how our payroll products support them: Understand federal forms and tax payments for 941, 944, 943, and 940.

Additionally, here's a resource you can check out to help you handle tax notifications in QuickBooks: Tax notices and IRS.

The IRS is requiring us to e-file all forms that is why we need the 943 to be e-filed.

I can see the importance of being able to e-file your form 943 in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Lmendez10. Let me share another way of doing this so you can still submit this form to the IRS.

As my colleague mentioned in this thread, acquiring the form is only available for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced. However, you'll still have to file this with the IRS manually. Whereas, if you're using a QBDT Payroll Assisted, the form can't be acquired nor e-filed within the application. Rather, we can run payroll reports and refer to the details to enter into the form.

You can refer to the IRS website for Form 943 and the steps for e-filing this with them. Aside from that, you can look for a third-party application that provides an option to e-file Form 943.

I'm always available if you have further questions about filing taxes. You can click the reply button to start posting them. Take care!

Additional question, I have RA 8655 on file (reporting agent), and I have both 940 and 943 annual filers. Currently, it appears QuickBooks does not support the RA 943 form to file electronically? Additionally, is it known if the RA version of the 943 will be available at some point in the future? Thanks!

Greetings, @Kristen R., Let me share more information about your RA 943 form.

Yes, that's correct. The QuickBooks Desktop is currently not supporting this RA form to file, as we don't have specific details on what options will be available on the program. I suggest getting your form in your product and manually filing it to the IRS.

I suggest sending feedback to our product engineers so that our team can review your requests and opinions. I know having this form will make the filing easier. I assure you that we will look into it. Follow these steps to send:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Click Send Feedback Online, and then select Product Suggestion.
  3. Provide your suggestions, requests, or opinions.
  4. Hit Send Feedback.

Moreover, I'm sharing this article to assist you when you want to view your filed tax and payments: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.

If you have further concerns about your tax forms, Please don't hesitate to reply below or create a new post. Have a great day, and take care.
