Employee W-4 help topic is full of misinformation and is out of date

In QB Desktop, on an employee record, I clicked the help button next to the W-4 type pick list and got this:

What’s changing with the Federal W-4?

My first comment on the title is that the W-4 changed almost 2 years ago, but this topic is written as if it hasn't happened yet, which is weird.

Then there's this section of the page:

What information do I enter if my employee has not provided me with a Form W-4 and their hire date is in 2020?

But then the IRS says :

If you hire employees there is information that you need to secure for your records and forms that you must complete.

So why even bother with this topic, since you must have a W-4 when the employee is hired?

And then there's, "Employees that need the 2020 Form W-4 include" and then you list some cases.

But, as it is, currently NO ONE needs to fill out a 2020 W-4 because it's obsolete. The current form, for the last seven months, is a 2021 W-4.

Under the steps for Desktop to enter the W-4 information is this step: "Go to Employees, and then Employee List."  There has been no Employee List for nearly a decade. There is the Employee Center.

And then there's this 'step' for the W-4: "Make sure your employee complies with the points on the Federal W-4 form popup... "

But this is incorrect. The employer has absolutely no responsibility to ensure that the employee fills out the form correctly. Not one tiny bit. It's the employee's responsibility. The employer just enters whatever is on the form.

Hello @BigRedConsulting,

I appreciate your feedback and for bringing this up here in the Community. I'll be sending a comment to our content team to update the information.

In the meantime, I recommend submitting your feedback through the article. You can scroll down to the bottom part of the page and mark it as unhelpful by clicking the No option to trigger the suggestion box (see screenshot below).

For additional reference, you can use the following article to know more about some common payroll situations and examples that can affect boxes 1, 3, and 5 amounts in W-2: Understand why the wage amounts are different on your employee's W-2.

Let me know if you have any other concerns about the QuickBooks articles. The Community and I will be here to help you.

The feedback link doesn't work and never has for me.

Clicking either button does nothing:
