Enhanced Payroll SHOCKING price increase

This is happening to a lot of people, your renewal is the list price.  QuickBooks has been trying to phase out Desktop version but they seem to be doing it the wrong way, jacking up the prices and messing with people is wrong.  Either keep it or don't.

You can explore to replace Enhanced Payroll with a 3rd party payroll app or switch to QB Desktop Enterprise Gold.

Yes, they are most assuredly going about it the wrong way.  My clients do NOT want to use QB Online, either.  I don't know WHAT I'm going to do but I WILL be finding different software before October of 2025!

I am in the same boat you are with only 3 clients left on my roster (I am semi-retired) and I only do after the fact payroll entry but I do generate payroll reports etc. for 2 of my clients. $2,800 is prohibitive with only 3 clients!

I detest Quickbooks Online.  

This price increase is extremely unreasonable and ridiculous. A tiered price increase over a few years would have been tolerated but a 100% increase in one year is unheard of. I will be filing a complaint and will discontinue using QuickBooks all together. Its not worth going to QBO for my small business clients. I'd like to hear from Intuit on their reasoning for pushing small businesses out of their market.

I agree!  I have been a Quickbooks user/supporter since 1999 & this is the largest increase ever.  I also have clients that do not want to migrate online like it seems we are all being forced to.  I too am a small business that has only a few payroll clients & small businesses.  For this to double in 1 year seems quite excessive.  I contacted their customer support to see if there are any discounts for us recurring/returning customers, but it seems only new customers are given price incentives.  I also agree that we cannot just "pass-on" the 100% price increase as we will lose most, if not all of our clients.  I am afraid to think what they will charge us next year....

You should consider using an old QB Desktop wit a non subscription license (i.e 2016 or later) to manage clients with basic requirements (e.g no payroll) to lower your total costs.
