@engstrom-nemont-  Generally, that means that you are trying to create payroll in the past. QBO is very finicky about that.

 

What is the paydate you have selected? I am assuming it is at least in July 2024 or prior, but probably June 2024 or prior.

 

Anyway, given the awful design of QBO, it's probably something you'll have to have the QB staff force through on their end, assuming you didn't simply pick the wrong paydate.

When running payroll, it's possible to create payroll checks within the current quarter. @FishingForAnswers  is correct, it's possible you've tried to run backdated payroll which taxes are already filed. To fix it, ensure the date is current and confirm that payroll hasn't run payroll for that period.

 

However, if you'd like to run payroll that have already been reported, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support team. They can access your account and guide you to help you successfully create another paycheck.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help at the top right.
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief description of your concern.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us: Start a chat or Have us call you.
