How can I get competent support for QB online? everyone I speek to, does not seem to understand the product. Many also struggle with understanding US English.

Any specific concern?

I agree, there is something wrong with the QB online. After running payroll I try to export the payroll file (.iif) into my ledger (QB desktop for MAC) and sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I cannot find a way to create a new file and import it. The file vanishes and cannot be recreated. Please help. I miss my old payroll program.

Welcome to the Community space, @Kahuna1. I can provide some information in sending the IIF file from QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) to QuickBooks for Mac.

QBOP and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac are two different platforms. The QBOP version is both payroll and accounting software combined. To send your payroll data to QBDT for Mac, you'll have to manually export your file from QBO.

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac releases updates to improve the program functionality. You need to make sure the system is updated to its latest release.

Before you import, I recommend you to back up your company file for future use. Then, know the IIF import limitations to smoothly execute the process. Whenever you're ready to import your IIF payroll data, here's how:

1. Sign in to your company file as an admin.
2. Go to the File menu.
3. Select Import.
4. Choose From IIF Files, then export your IIF file.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure.

I can see that the option to convert your data is beneficial for your business. The best way to handle this is to use a third-party converter. You can check for an app that can be compatible with QuickBooks that will suit your business needs.

@Fiat Lux - ASIA   Yes, The concern is that the people who call me back do not understand the product or how it works.  They are also not able to answer basic questions like "are bonuses and regular pay checks taxed differently" They also do not seem to speak or understand US based English speakers.  QB has a REAL problem here. 

@AbegailS_  & @Kahuna1    PLEASE do not hijack this thread.....  it is not about running payroll on a Mac. it is about the poor support provided by QB.  How do we get on the phone with competent support????
